I purchased an Albino Kenyan Sand Boa and she is just evil. Bites, strikes, and tries to eat me. I bought her July 28th and it's been a challenge ever since. She is driving me nuts. No matter how cautiously I try to pick her up she still bites. Of course since she is little it's really not a big deal...but I'd like her to be tolerant so I can move her when I have to clean cages and stuff. Out of all my snakes I have she is the most pissy thing.

I sold her cage recently and moved her into a different one, but I don't think she is upset by that. I am getting the cage up to about 90 and have her on aspen. She has various hides as well.

Here are a few photos.. I don't have any new ones.. My cameras dead. Doh.

Sorry for the crappy pics. I'm not a photographer..

Here is a pic of her cage.. It's not set up in the pic because I took it last week and posted it for sale. Nobody replied about it so I put her in it tonight.

Hmmm.... Triple the aspen....

I have to play "find the snake" with mine... The bedding is thick enough they can completely disappear...

i also don't use aspen-- it works just fine but I like stuff that's got smaller chunks in case it gets swallowed.

And sometimes they are just pissy... I've got a ball python that if she sees someone in the room she will thump the tub over and over and over.... Cage cleaning day sounds like there is a drum beating-- she will thump for hours no matter what I do with her- no matter where I put her- even if she is covered- it doesn't matter... I recently moved her to the top slot in the rack which is up against the ceiling and she thumps less but sometimes they are just pissy...

LOL.. I also play find the Sand Boa. I get close to her head and her little teethies hit me so fast. She did that today but I had my hand covered with my shirt. I guess I just expected that but I will put more aspen in her cage to see if that works a little better. I guess she might just remain a pissy lil thing. She doesn't have a name yet.

I'll just call her Zorra. Apparently it means "B" or something in spanish.. lmao.. I had a dog named Zorra though.. I didn't know what it meant!! haha. OH well. Yeah, pissy little girl. She's a pain in my rear! She doesn't wanna eat at the moment. She'll eat like every 3 weeks. Princess does as she wants to. She's not losing any weight so it's fine. Darn snakes!

She has the worst feeding response. She grabs, wraps, and stares at me until I leave. She will literally grab the food and hold onto it for hours. I came back in a few minutes ago to find her finally chowing down.. and than she stopped for a second and I left again.

My Sand boas are driving me crazy. Except for the Anery. She's perfect. lol.

I think the Albino is just the spawn of satan. She started out evil and she'll always be evil. I really don't think that she will tolerate minimal handling. It's not for lack of trying. There is hardly any minute where she isn't acting crazy on me. LOL.. Though I kind of find it amusing.. little mean snake.

My female Paradox Albino Sand Boa is also being very picky with her meals at the moment, along with my male Dodoma's. But they have become my favorite snakes out of the 8 i have, and would love to get a few more, or maybe some Rosy's.

I have zero feeding issues with my Anery kenyan sand boa. She eats like a horse! I love that one. The albino is just a butthead. lol.... I wonder if she'll stay like that? When I go to pick her up I am very careful but she still thrashes around like crazy. None of the other ones really do that unless I spook them. She's gonna take a lot of patience! LOL
