Well since I did work in the crawlspace my previous burmation closet that used to stay in the low 50's during the winter is now in the mid 60's I need to do some work to get the temps down, besides cutting a hole to the outside world to let cold air in I figured I would start a thread to see how everyone burmates theirs.

I stick colubrids on a wall ledge that wraps around entire basement area, it's cool in there... mid to high 50's, 2 months and they are ready.

Could always try a portable AC.....I don't brumate.

You do realize it was around 10 degrees here today and I have oil filled heaters running....that would just be wrong on so many levels...lol

One of my 2 days off for the new year will have to be spent cutting a hole in the house, probably should be new year's eve to combat any physical problems I may have on new years day....

I brumate at whatever temp my basement gets and have never had a problem. It usually stays around 60 down there in the dead of winter....I guess it depends on the species though. Corns will go with brumation temps in the 60s where as pits need the low 50s in order to brumate properly. I am bringing my corns up now. Started the last week in October and set the t stat at 70 this morning.
