Ok, so I just posted in regards to my baby CRT's but here is another question. The male does this head thing where he turns his head upside down. The only time it seems he does it is when he is "looking" for a place to crawl up. I have been told IBD, the breeder guarenteed me that its not possible and there is no sign of mites. He has been doing it since we brought him home though it seems less and less. He eats fine, moves fine, etc. It is not affecting him in any way, its just when he does it, it worries me! Using repti-carpet with a uth and red heat bulb on occasion! On the cool side is in the low 70s and about 85-91 on the warm side. They have a water dish, a hide cave on each side. Feeding him weekly frozen. Any suggestions/opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Not an expert but I'd say it doesn't sound proper and I'd surely practice proper quarantine and sanitary procedures..

YES, QT. However I will say that I hear ALOT of people jump to IBD because (heaven forbid) their boa looked up! Looked up and around! Whoooa, that can't be right.

Actually, it can be. It can be a totally normal thing. They do lift their heads. They do sometimes seem to get into akward positions. Some do so more then others.

Again, quarantine is a must any time that you bring new animals into your home. However, don't worry to much about it lifting it's head, looking around its new home, or checking things out. If all other behavior (eating, defacating, parasite free) is normal then I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much, being that it's a boa and it could be doing the "chin crawl" thing that alot of boas love to do, which in my opinion they do just for the sole purpose of scaring their keepers.

Thank you very much for your reply. He eats and poos just fine and he does do the chin crawl also, now that you mention it. I will continue keep watch but I am thinking it is just something that he will grow out of, I hope

Ok so i was mistaken, lol! WOW they are growing so fast! Took them out last night for awhile and they are now about 18-20 feet! I swear that the last week they were only 12-14 inches! Never been good with metrics, lol. I will take pics this weekend so you all can see the beauties.

18-20 inches do you mean? I'm assuming? Yeah, they do grow fast, they're like kids, you blink and they need new stuff already!
