.....that when you don't need rats, you have too many............and when you need rats, you don't have enough!

Come to think of it, I guess its like women kinda. When you need one, you cant find a good one. Then as soon as you find one......or better yet, get married, they are all around and some even flock to you at work and at the bar!

but to stay on topic....lol......i really envy those who have the rat schedule down solid throughout summer,winter,breeding,etc. But I have a feeling that a lot of people come up short a couple of times a year. There is nothing i hate more then forking over cash for a whole lot of small rats to feed off cause I'm out of my own.....!

We started breeding to make sure we would always have some kind of supply for our animals. Looking forward to springtime when we can build a 'shed' for them and then increase our rat production.

There's a solution for having too many rodents, it's called the freezer...LOL

Personally, I like having too many!

I think part of it is, the snakes eat more during the summer and my rats don't like to breed as much in the summer heat. The rats like the cool temps they get in the winter and all the breeders start going off feed. Kinda like a catch 22. LMAO

I find I am in the same boat with the mice!

I never can have to many...sometimes I find more than I can feed but they will find a good spot somewhere.

My mouse production seems to come in waves. They go nuts for a certain amount of time then taper off. But like Sput said I just freeze'em for leaner days ahead.

As far as having too many women I cant comment thats never happened to me much to my chagrin.

I can only handle one at a time anyway..... Cant keep all the names, birthdays, and all that crap straight! :devil:

I'm with ya there man :D I have a hard enough time remembering my own damn birthday much less multiple womens birthdays :lol:

On the rat thing, I'm definitely going through a bit of a dry spell breeding wise but I just set them all up in an actual rat rack so hopefully that helps. We've always got frozen around though just for the dry spells.

Just dont do what I did.... I forgot to rotate out my breeders... now I should have stock in Rodent Pro with as much as Ive bought off them in the last 3mos. Im still trying to rebuild my population.
