Tonight was my usual feeding night and as usual I couldn't find my tongs. I figured I would be able to get away with it with my sand boa but she proved me wrong. She has horrific aim. Right as I was attempting to feed her she lunged at me, quickly got her little teethies into me and proceeded to wrap around me. I kept moving my finger and she kept squeezing. I thought this was an appropriate opportunity to grab the camera while she was biting me.. Needless to say I totally deserved this. hahaha.

Nice pics. One of my Saharans almost got me a couple nights ago. Was trying to get him to take one he'd already killed and crawled away from. He did a side swipe at me and ALMOST connected :D

Yea sand boas are one of the hardest snakes to hand feed. Ive even gotten tagged using 15" hemostats before too with large females. They smell that food and start snapping their heads around. They have a hell of a reach too for such a tiny snake!

Yeah I love how they can come at you backwards, forwards, sideways, it doesn't matter. If they want ya most times they can get ya.
