I had a deformed leachie hatch out today, it wasnt going to live very long. Well...my male hog is alil picky eatter, i didnt want the gecko to go to waste...so became his dinner. At 1st, wanted nothing to do with it untill my 1st vid. died. round two...ate it. Most likey the only time you will see a $300 gecko fed to a $50-$100 hognose...

Just being resourceful. Its usually the sick or diseased animals that are picked off in the wild. Nice video.

I got pics of a sulfer water monitor eating a couple of F/T bearded dragons that died...
They were high end bearded too... My partner John got a lot of heat for posting that pic a few years back... I guess the caption "Marketed leucistics taste just like the normal ones" didnt help much... LOL...

My take on this is, it is just another food source... People get all bent out of shape when someone feeds a cornsnake to a monitor and then they throw a mouse in their cornsnake cage... Go figure...

presentation makes a difference in how people take it i think . i have seen things like this presented in a way that seems to intentionally draw fire .
sorry about the leetle guy . was wondering if this will alter the willingness of the hoggie to take his usual feed items .

I can not answer for hogs as I have been VERY lucky in that I haven't had any YET with feeding problems, but have had non feeding corns and kings. The corns that just kept refusing went to the kings, which seemed to kick them in and they haven't refused a mouse since. Just my experience...

I Think that's why I wanted him to eat it. He hasn't show any willingness to eat mice, so he doesnt have a usual food item, he has been an odd feeder from the start. I don't wanta feed reptiles to him but at the same time I want him to eat something.
