I thought I'd share an example of a spinner, wobbler, whatever you want to call it.

Yesterday I'd put this trouble feeder pastel in with my little spinner dude to spark her feeding response and apparently the company made him a bit uncomfortable. Although it looks kinda disturbing in the video once I removed the pastel he's back to normal - no looping, no shaking - just another day in the life of a snake.

Thanks for the video of the "scary" freakin "wobble". I know everyone wants to debate it and whether or not it's healthy for the snakes but damn, I mean all spiders I've seen have been the healthiest looking, best eating snakes with some of the best temperments of any ball pythons. I actually just noticed this weekend when we had all the balls in tubs around the fireplace that my spider is starting to wobble quite a bit. He was almost tying himself in freakin knots! Love him to death though and this is the first time I've noticed it, I'm sure it was just because of the stressful situation and being in a less than prime environment (I hope). Thanks again! :yourock:

Does he eat well ? and if so does he not spin as bad when feed, I heard of this spinning when there Hungery. I'm glad You posted that vid, Now Ive seen a spinner spin... Looks really bad, like IBD bad. I know its not but dam I would be bummed out with a line like that.. Good luck this Season.

Actually -- the female spider that produced this guy is a non wobbler - steady as a rock even during stress situations. And no he doesn't do this at all normally but the stress of having the female in the cage with him set him off. When I removed her he was back to his old self. Sadly any spider or spider mix has the propensity to produce wobbling offspring -- it's just a fact of the morph and something you have to be willing to deal with if you breed them.

Tosha, I know they all have the propensity to produce offspring like that one. I've seen a few hundred crosses, only one showed some kind of Quirk. It was a Spinnerblast and he just had a slight tilt to his head. I have one female like that, she holds her head off to the left.....I'm sure there some that have this more then others, has to be. Mine don't do it at all even at night with the lights off..

I've had some good long talks with Scott S... It does seem to be a stress thing when it comes to spinning Spider crosses.. I'm just trying to figure out what brings this on. I thought maybe it was mainly food intake. But in this case its because of the other snake. Theres more Now to make Me wounder. I have a few that I'm going to try and see... Lemonblast males to Spiders and Bee's and I'll do some Bee males to Pinstripe females........... I've never ran into this, ever.. Now watch all My Spinnerblast will shake , rattle and Roll.. I hope Not, I beleave some must have it really bad and some just have alittle head tilt.. Anyways thanks for letting Me know about that. Its really something that when You take the Female out, He acks fine.. Good luck with Him , Do You think He'll breed for You this season? Or do You think He'll just get to stressed and go Postal...... If You would can You PM Me where You got the Mother from.. I will always like Spiders and there crosses , but I could see were someone would never want to get into them. If thats what He's going to do when trying to breed Him.. OK I'm about to spin myself .

Thats about as bad as I've ever seen it. My queen/bee doesn't show any signs whatsoever. I've got a regular spider male that will wobble a bit come feeding time but that's about it. Nothing like that though..

Jas............ Your Married.... Not allowed to go to Topless bars,

I thought that was WHY people went to topless bars :D

But yeah Tosha after watching it again (I didn't see the whole thing earlier cuz I was at work and trying to keep it on the DL lol) I gotta say that's some crazy type spinning but not unheard of. My guy will do that somewhat.... Do a little bit of corkscrewing but not shaking or turning in on himself like that. Good luck with the little guy!

Wow I've never seen one do it like that.. My spider wobbles at feeding time.. Thats the only time Ive seen him do it. His head shakes a bit before he strikes.. Thanks for sharing that.. If my spider did that I would have freaked.. I didn't know they would do it that bad..

I have a male spider that does similar things while investigating his surroundings...........until you walk up on him or slide out his tub. Then he acts totally normal. He eats rats like they are going extinct and he breeds like there is no tomorrow so I don't really have any complaints about him.

Yea , but it doesn't do it when she take s the female away.. Its like the little guy is overwhelmed. Ive heard of them doing it when there Hungrey, just a head wobble. Ive never seen it with Mine ,but heard of it. I'm glad I see other Breeders that have Spiders and there Morphs , that don't do this... I was feeling to Perfect..lol...

Adam when I was married, I couldn't even talk about going to a Topless bar. If I was to even look at another womens what ever .... I would hear about it for days . Thank You God for given Me the Power to kick Her out of the Home..lmao.. Now I can look all I want , do all I want and not have to deal with the dramma..

I'll write a Book , "Big Mean Men,And the Women that Run Them"...:master:

Most spiders have a shake or wobble to them. Walk into your reptile room in the middle of the night and you will catch them doing some sort of spinning. It doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with them its just what they do.
I remember the first time I saw mine spin I was freaking out. I took the next day off work and ran my snake to the vet thinking my snake was sick. All I could think of was that a snake that I just paid $9000.00 for was going to die and how in the hell am I going to explain this one to my wife. My vet ,who is a very well known exotic vet, could not find anything wrong with him. So the next day I told my friend who I bought him from about the spinning and he called Kevin from NERD to ask him if he had ever seen this before. Kevin told him that most of them spin to some degree. It's just something that they do. It makes them unique.

Man, I love to see people come outta the woodwork when a video like this or pictures are posted, "My spider doesn't spin... good lineage...etc." They're ALL from the original spider male brought in...and honestly I think ALL spin/wobble to some degree. Spiders are one of the most outcrossed morphs out there, and there are still issues...it's linked to the spider gene. Anyone who denies that is just ridiculous.

Hell, some are hardly noticeable... my spider has a slight head shake and tilts his head to the side like a confused dog when it's feeding day. Other than that, he's fine unless I really stress him out.

If you watch spiders roam around at night, or watch em close on feeding day, you'll notice weird shit... also, flip em upside-down and watch how long it takes them to right themselves.

From talking to a lot of different spider breeders even the best spiders can throw train wrecks.

I had a friend who believed his spider didn't have issues...well I was handling the spider, and it had a head tick, and held slightly strange body contortions, after I showed him what that was he was a believer....

I appreciate you sharing this Tosha.

I know some think that the combos don't spin, from what i've seen, some do and some don't. I think that perhaps the other genes help to correct the motor coordination issues.

Anyway, just my opinion...gotta play devil's advocate once and a while.
