Do any of you know where to get two color sided melamine like white and black?I have looked and never found it. What about painting melamine?

I have gotten my melamine from Home Depot but it's all white one color. I haven't seen anything other then that myself.

They've also got a black fake wood grain, and a lighter fake wood grain. Although it only comes in the pre-cut shelving section.

You can try Plastic such as what AP and others use. Comes is a wide variety of colors from blue, red, green, black, white, pink, yellow, etc, etc, etc. Just another options. As for Melamine I've seen it is wood grain like oak and maple and of course white. You may have to ask as they may simply stock the white based on sales/popularity, but will more than likely order it for you. May cost a little more though.

They may make it themselves, just with 2 different colors of laminate.

That's another option, laminate it yourself. You can use a wide range of solid colors to marble or granite like. Takes a little skill to get it right and not make a mess, but this is another route if you're up to it.

I've been interested in doing this too, I'd much rather be building black cages than white ones, but looking at the laminate sheets at lowes it was REALLY expensive, but maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing?

I am pretty sure you can get colors other than white of melamine. At my home depot they have a display and all of the other colors say "special order" on them. Ask at a lumber yard also or if you have a cabinet maker close.....
