Hey guys I really like the new forum. We needed a good quality reptile forum around here. I'll be posting more as the days go on. For those that don't know me, I'm Jason Hormann. I used to own www.KCRD.com (Kansas City Reptile Distributors) up until a little over a year ago. We switched things up a little and expanded into a store front. Now I own/operate House of Scales Exotic Pets here in Kansas City, where we sell everything your mom doesn't want you to have, and stuff much too wild for your PetSmarts or PetCos. We sell everything from a wide range of reptiles to small exotic critters such as Sugar Gliders, Fennec Foxes, Short Tail Possums, Marmosets, and other really cool critters. We also carry a great selection of invertebrates and amphibians.

Along with running the pet store I also have a nice attainable breeding group of Ball Pythons, Burmese Pythons, Bearded Dragons, Leopard Geckos, and a few other odds and ends. The project we are the most proud of is our T+ Burmese Project. On May 15th of 2008 we hatched out the 1st T+ burm ever produced in captivity and on the 25th of September we lucked out and hatched out #2 & #3 but unfortunately lost one soon after he hatched. We have some big plans with this project as we prepare to make T+ Granites, Labs, and Greens over the next several years. One little tid bit of information about this project, there were only 12 T+ burms hatched out this year from 4 breeders and approximatly 270 eggs!

I look forward to making new friends and reacquainting with old ones on this awesome new site!

Not yet, but they were talking to me about it at the San Diego Super Show last June. Reptiles took a ton of pics of the T+s at the show but I don't think they have used them yet.

Talk about cool. Having your own snake pictured in Reptiles!

Not knowing a whole lot about burm morphs, are these different than the blondes?

EDIT: Sorry about being OT...

They are different than the Blondes. The Blondes were never proved out as the only one that was ever imported has never reproduced. There is another line of Caramel Albino that is in Europe but in my opinion it doesn't look near as nice as this one. It's more of a Type 2 Albino than a T+. Once again that is my opinion.

Nifty. I could have sworn I heard that Bob eventually produced a couple Blondes or atleast some hets. Maybe it was just rumors, though.

Bob actually was the 2nd person to produce Caramels this year. He hatched his two females out like a month and a half after my male hatched. But they are the same bloodline which was imported by Chris from Gulf Coast Exotics. The reason these babies are such a big deal in regard to this bloodline is due to the fact that the original male that produced my hets died shortly after the hets were laid. So the only chance of continuing this bloodline was if some of us that bought into this project produced some from the hets. As it is there were only 4 out of 12 male Caramels produced this year and one of them was the baby that I lost in the second clutch. So 3 living males is all there is until we hopefully produce more next season. There won't be any 100% hets available from this line until either my male or one of Chris's males produce in the fall 2009.

If any of you are interested in getting into this project hit me with a PM or an email as I still have a few 66% hets left that I'm going to sell from my two litters. I'll let pairs go for $750 a pair or if you want a pair of the Albino siblings that are 66% possible hets (and maybe more if you read the info I posted in the photo gallery) go for $1500 a pair. Quite honestly I'm tempted to hold all of the Albinos back myself but finding room for that many up and coming burms is gonna be tough with the space I have right now.

At first I thought this thread was a buddy of mine joining the forums (Ted Williams @ houseofscales.com)..but i guess the name has more than one user....and honestly I should have known better,as Ted rarely posts in forums

That's awesome. I had seen something about Gulf Coast producing some caramels too. Thanks for the info on the project and sorry for hijacking your intro thread for info on your caramel project.
