and here is a PEW (one of two), well, atleast thats what i think it is, Dr Peppers mom was PEW...

Im curious what colors they turn out to be...
and yes guys, i will be able to feed them to the snakes...
i may not post pics, cause some people get offensive to snakes eating rabbits... whatever... lol
but yeah... :)
i dont like shelling out the cash for food for the 6 rabbits - so 11 is out of the question!!! but the old rabbit is going to a new home (she is this litters mom's mom) and possibly the one behind dr pepper in the first pic... if she isnt prego tho :) because i only want to keep 4 breeding rabbits... and have some spare cages for growing up youngsters :) lol
anyway... enough excitement... im going to try and get daily pics up... :) im just happy... cause it proves to my mom that the male isnt "shooting blanks" as she said... lol :)
here is the boy again :) my fuzzy Dr Pepper :)

JOHNS6068 12-18-2008, 01:12 PM Cool pictures..I had rabbits when I was younger that had a surprise litter but I didn't know about it till they where out eating with the others. So this is a first for me seeing baby rabbits that small. Thanks for sharing :yourock:

Yeah, they are about the size of crawler rats right now, except they are pink rabbits lol... its pretty cool.

lol,
yeah, its weird cause not many people breed rabbits for their snakes...
its mostly rats and mice... but i wanted something different that would be *cough* fun to have... my male is a really funny animal.... and well, the females are not as sweet and wanting of attention as he is - but i got him when he was about 10 weeks... :)
Cool new litter of bunnies. Congrats Sarah.
Thanks :)
im setting up a strict no baby bunnies in the house rule so my mom doesnt get attached lol... except for one female which a friend of mine wants :)
FloridaHogs 12-18-2008, 02:21 PM Congrats Sara!! Glad to see that adventure has paid off for you!

Ha yeah, me too :)
I have been contemplating next spring getting some New Zealand rabbits from a friend of mine and setting up a colony type situation and selling them to local big snake people... The guy who got Mira said he would be interested, and then he knows a boa breeder locally who he said might be interested once i get on my feet
it would bring in some extra money - atleast to pay for itself anyways lol - and i'd be helping other people out...
and rabbits are deff not hard to take care of haha. little food. water. and some hay/nest boxes... :) and some quality petting time so they dont try and kill you when you need to pick them up lol :)
but that would be a few months from now... and i would have to get some extra money from selling excess pet rabbits to pet shops... :) cause at this rate, the $20 bucks a month for food - for six rabbits... actually is not bad - i was spending so much more on rats and mice when i bred those
FloridaHogs 12-18-2008, 02:28 PM It helps being able to buy food in bulk....I wonder how mice and rats would do on rabbit food?

my guess would be good... its only like 7 bucks for a 25lb bag at the feed store behind walmart - it would be worth a try...
i think its made up of alfalfa and some other stuff - i'll figure it out...
Passion4Pythons 12-20-2008, 11:17 PM Here are some day three pics :)
they are bigger, and have peach fuzz....
and they DONT STOP MOVING. lol
here is Leroy - my friend is taking this one - lol - dont know why i named her/him that... but yeah...

i should title it "from the nest box, to the belly of a snake"
or is that a tad grotesque
lol

147BOAS 12-21-2008, 12:20 AM thats some cool pictures
Passion4Pythons 12-24-2008, 03:30 PM Ok, so here is an update...
Sunday night was super cold, below freezing, yada yada yada...
two babies died, the other three were real cold... mom wasnt feeding, i left them in the nest outside cause it wasnt as cold - and they were looking better... i went out around 2pm on monday, the broken black one was going blue, but still alive... i took them all inside... warmed them up... we got some kitten milk replacement and gave them some of that... then i brought the mom in later that night - she wouldnt voluntarally feed them.. so i had to put the babies up to a teat, they ate... she went back out... anyways... they are doing good now...
they are 6 days old, and fuzzy... they should be opening their eyes soon... :) but here are some pics... they are inside - in a box, and i bring mom in twice a day, and i give them a little KMR in between that... but yeah... :) there is a broken black, a white, and what looks to be a silvery himi (kinda like a Siamese cat)
here are some pics...
