I've got a Rose Hair that my son bought home about a year or so ago. In that time she's only moulted once. Since it belongs to my son 'technically' it doesn't get fed on a very regular basis so I've been dropping a cricket or two in there once in a while. I'd like to see her grow and be healthy. If fed and cared for properly, how often should she be fed and how often should I expect her to moult?
Haven't got the balls to pick her up yet but she's growin' on me :D.

Spiders have a pretty low metabolism....few crickets once or twice a week as long as they eat them all in a few minutes are plenty.....a well fed tarantula should have a nice filled out rump, as that is where all the reserves are.
On a side note, once males mature they usually won't shed again after that. Females on the other hand will shed until they die. If a male does shed after maturity loss of the pedi-palps usually occurs and they worthless for breeding....not such a big deal in your case since it doesn't sound as though that is your goal.

Quig we brought home a rose hair nearly 2 years ago and it has only molted once. Now there have been a few periods in that two years that it went longer than it should've without food, but it has appeared healthy the whole time. :dunno: Hopefully by me posting this up she will flip over and molt again for me :wamma:

LOL, we've had this girl about a year and a half now and she's shed twice, so I guess that's ok.
