The first day we worked out.... I am almost puked. No joke. I havent been pushed this hard since the special forces qualification course. bamasmith 01-06-2011, 08:52 PM Will plyometric training do any good to help prepare for this? I usually rock that stuff. My conditioning needs to improve first, that I can already tell.If you almost got sick,I know I would. FIREball 01-06-2011, 08:53 PM I did it a couple years ago, wait until the ab ripper! GenePirate 01-06-2011, 10:12 PM I love P90X. We did it for a month, but then got sick with the flu around Halloween and never picked it back up for week 5. For me, plyometrics was the killer--my biggest challenge for sure. Kenpo was fun. Ab ripper was my favorite part, but that's my most developed muscle group, so it was the easiest. You probably will start seeing weight loss and definition in the first two weeks. Drink lots of water. It helps. Tony Horton is kind of funny at times, so that helps too. bamasmith 01-06-2011, 10:16 PM My abs are not ready..I have got to prepare for this..I'm determined to go for it now.. Shescountry89 01-06-2011, 11:59 PM It works, and boy will it kick your ass. I couldnt walk without hurtin for a week when i started!! Follow a good diet thats a big thing. tristatepythons 01-07-2011, 12:15 AM Kenpo X was my favorite. I use to do it on a heavy bag, to make it more realistic. The yoga was good, just a really long workout. After P90X, you should try Insanity, the name says it all. norsmis 01-07-2011, 05:03 AM Will plyometric training do any good to help prepare for this? I usually rock that stuff. My conditioning needs to improve first, that I can already tell.If you almost got sick,I know I would. It will on some days.... there is a day of just plyometrics and it is a butt kicker! We just did our day 5 workout (Legs and Back, Ab Ripper) and I am starting to feel a little more comfortable with the program. The ab ripper is just that.... it will rip you up! :D Bama, I would say go for it bro! From reading different forums on this stuff it seems the hardest part for most people is following the diet. Jen and I eat pretty healthy already so it wasnt too much of a change for us. It is a LOT of food though! One of the things we are doing different is not using the recovery drink because its EXPENSIVE!!!!! Instead, a lot of people recommended low fat chocolate milk with creatine. It seems to be working pretty well and it has to taste better than the recovery drink! :D FloridaHogs 01-07-2011, 10:24 AM Kick butt program! GenePirate 01-07-2011, 01:17 PM Kenpo X was my favorite. I don't want to do another downward dog--ever. That is a long workout. FloridaHogs 01-07-2011, 01:24 PM Try a yogurt/fruit juice smoothie for your after workout recovery drink. Works great! sangmort 04-27-2012, 04:10 PM Hey Ron, ever keep going with this? I've been to afraid to try it out & have been doing my own stuff instead :lmao: Tho we have insanity too...a little scared to try that also! ~ LucasJennings 04-27-2012, 04:35 PM it is pretty intense. the plyometrics gets me everytime....i have crap knees from skateboarding! |
