so how many rats do you all keep compared to the snakes in your collection this was the first week i have not had to buy any i am still building my breeding colony up and wanted to know what the avrage was to keep up with what i was feeding off

Someone said in another thread they keep one female rat for every snake to keep production up. I don't have that ratio yet since the rats are still in the house.

I have about 200 balls, 30 are neonates . About 30 adult female rats. Some of the rats have 8 babies, some have 20 . I need 2 litters a week to hold back just for the neos. The rest get held for the adults an I still buy rats. Hope this helps a little. Good luck.
