This past summer , I found these under a barrel. I had to move the barrel for other uses so I took these in to give them a shot at hatching.

Found 5 skink eggs , hatched and released 5 baby skinks. I let them sit in a 6" deli cup with Perilite on the back of our toilet. Was something neat to watch.

Thanks. Every so often we get eggs laid around the house so if I find them in area that will cause the eggs to die due to something we're doing , I take them in and give them a shot at hatching.

So far I've done ....

3 clutches of those skinks
1 clutch of racers
Farmed about 3 - 5k tree froglets

Just little things to help out where I can. No sense in them not having a shot over us doing something to their habitat.

That is so neat. I'd been told by people how they would hatch anole eggs, but I never saw any. Just really neat.

I hear ya Bro... I did the same in Hawaii because we had house geckos all over our on post housing. I would find their tiny little eggs all over the house and would put them in a bowl outside on the patio to hatch. Every single one I put out there hatched!

I've got a WC female five-lined skink that I've been tryin' to catch a boyfriend for. She's layed two infertile clutches in the two years I've had her. I need to expand the population :D

Great pics. Total Bush-League. I didnt know they were that tiny when they hatched. I wonder what they eat? Itty bitty bugs I guess.

Pin head Crix , baby roaches.

I swear the babies are faster than the adults.

I get a big ol kick out of hatching mystery eggs but only if the clutch is in danger of dying if left in place. If the clutch is safe then I just watch it and see if I can catch the hatching.

The tree frogs are fun too. I set out kitty litter tubs for the adults to breed / drop eggs in and I transfer the tadpoles to a 3'L x 2'W x 2'H aquarium to grow into froglets. A good year will have 500 - 1000 or so tadpoles run thru the tank.

I didn't get to do the tadpoles this past year. Only found a few tubs with any in them and it was so dry they didn't last long.
