pairing pastel and spider? I have a hatchling from mid July that I swear looks enchi....she is definitely reduced and I'm hoping eventually proves to be a genetic banded, but, would enchi be something that could occur in that pairing?? Forgive my naivete but enchi is one that I just can't hunt up enough background info on....:o

An enchi is a base mutation meaning enchis can only be made by enchi, no association to pastel or spider.

No it would be impossible, unless one of the parents happened to be an enchi cross and no one knew... Do you have pics of the baby?

Pastel x spider makes bumble bees, pastels, and spiders.

As already stated enchis are a base mutation.

Think of base morphs like prime colours they are a starting point to all the other morphs :)

Thanks guys (sorry-we have the plague going through our house-four out of five kids sick). I will take a pic of her this week but she LOOKS enchi other than the diff nose...both my actual enchis have the white nose spotting. I def knew the spider to pastel possible outcomes which is why she threw me off as she is not 'typical'. Regardless, one I will holdback.

You can make offspring that look like enchis but won't genetically be enchis. It would be similar to making a dark mojave that looks like a mystic. It may look exactly like some proven mystics but genetically it's not and won't be able to produce the same combinations that a mystic can. I saw two clutches this year also that a friend produced that had pastel-like normals in the clutch. They look exactly like a b-grade pastel but pastel wasn't in the breedings. Similar deal...
