So, right now our two boa babies are being kept in a rack on papertowels, with a water bowl and appropriate hide. Everyone seems fine. What do you guys all use as bedding, and why.? My BP's are on shredded aspen during the winter to keep some humidity, and paper towels during the summer to keep humidity down a little. My hogs and corns are on aspen shavings year round. The boa's are a whole new ball game for us. Maybe I am worrying too much but I feel that each species care needs to be tweaked to fit them the right way. In the end i think they do better than if you just approach it generically.
Thanks,
Mike Kelly

i think you are worrying too much. i have kept mine on newspaper, paper towels and aspen. currently i am keeping them on aspen just because i like the way it looks, it's easy and they do well on it (i use the shredded kind). it all comes down to personal preference. i hope this helps.

Paper towels and newspaper for me. My friend lost a prized boa during breeding. Its hemipenes was injured and infected from the aspen.

All our babies start out on paper towels in the shoebox rack. Move up to 12 quart bins and they go to newspaper. Anything larger than that up to the 2' x 4' cages is on Aspen.

I was using news paper. Tried Kraft paper, didn't like it but I think I was not using the right stuff. I am now using the shredded aspen and I hope it works out.

You are worring too much, as long as they are eating well, they can be kept on just about anything. I have tried Cypress, Shredded Coconut husks, paper towel, newspaper, and aspen. They all work well just make sure you give them a little mist when they come off a blue. (about to shed)

Newspaper for me. Tried aspen, reptile bark, eco-earth, and reptile carpet but really like newspaper the best.
