County and Western ;) actually mostly 80's metal / punk but I like all kinds of music. Chimpkin 10-14-2008, 04:55 PM I am all over the map but lately I have been listening to Nightwish-Dark Passion Play, Porcupine Tree-Fear of a Blank Planet, Weezer-Red Album, Midnight Oil-Blue Sky Mining and the classic Genesis album Selling England by the Pound. As you can see, I have a broad range. I am also somewhat of an audiophile. I will not listen to music on speakers that cost less than a grand. The last cd I bought was Lateralus. I have no clue what they are up to lately. TnT Reptiles 10-14-2008, 10:19 PM I'm a big Motley Crue fan myself , but I listen to a bit of everything. Chimpkin 10-14-2008, 10:29 PM This would be the bare minimum for a great listening experience. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/xshaynex/AudioSetup.jpg What you're seeing is a unique way to embrace the era of digital music. Heres a breakdown of the equipment. Apple imac 20" computer as a music and recording workstation. 250 gb external drive - It's sole use is my music collection. Focusrite Saffire Pro 10 - The blue box on the left is a firewire audio unit that controls up to 8 inputs and outputs. Audio Technica ath-m40 Headphones. - A nice reasonably priced headphone design for a flat response. Speakers: Yamaha HS80M - Powered bi-amped studio monitors. Of course they are on custom mounts for my personal ear level and angle and are dampened with auralex mo pads. The whole setup rests on a Roland Digital piano w/ 88 fully weighted keys. NOW...am I crazy or what. If anyone has enough interest to read this far I have a lot more equipment I can post. BT 10-14-2008, 10:42 PM Dang BT, I didn't know you were into tool. Donnie_K 10-15-2008, 12:15 AM Man it depends on what kind of mood I'm in and how much I've had to drink... lol, Some nights I'm all about the old school metal, metallica, sabbath, slayer, and other nights I'm all on some Hank Williams and George Jones... constrictorkeeper 10-15-2008, 04:01 PM bach, beethoven, mozart, zeppelin, van headache, rainbow. but my fave "not at least 30 years old" band is dream theater. if you metal heads wanna hear some serious ear-bleedin' thunder, you gotta check these brothers out, they will kick your ass. drummer mike portnoy has been on drummer magazine covers more times than moses appears in the old testament. mike petrucci rips on lead and writes some awesome lyrics. lead singer james labrie's only fault is that he's canadian, dude has a range like geoff tate from queensreich. check them out, their music ranges from tears in your eyes ballad stuff to balls to the walls metal and they can execute everything in between too. they wont disappoint, ck SAMHAIN 10-15-2008, 04:12 PM I'm a Hank man..:D Is there a tear in your beer? :D Hmmm Music..... http://www.foroswebgratis.com/imagenes_foros/1/8/9/2/9/462745Misfits%2520-%2520Famous%2520Monsters.jpg Varanus99 10-15-2008, 07:43 PM Mainly old metal, thrash, death metal, black metal, hardcore and punk. Most of the stuff I listen to is old. I dun git dis new fangled music dem darn kids is lissen' ta. To name just a few favorites off the top of my head... Misfits, Ramones, Type-O Negative, Murphy's Law, Biohazard, DOA, Slayer, Metallica (old only please), Venom, Obituary, Demolition Hammer, Death, Sepultura, Morbid Angel, Possessed, NOFX, Minor Threat, Hatebreed, The Pogues Celtic Frost, Black Flag, Descendents, old Suicidal, DRI, Dark Tranquility, Pro Pain ok thats enough. I dont really care for "normal" metal. That is to say, a lot of the more mainstream bands I dont fancy. Like Iron Maiden or KISS. Nothing against them just not my taste. For me metal has to have a bite or Id rather pass. My only exception is ManoWar. Thats my guilty pleasure. Yeah, I know they are corny but I love that Conan stuff. I have some old punk tapes which are great from bands no one has ever heard of from when I used to tape trade. On some tapes I dont even know who the bands are but they are fun to listen to. Now of course as anyone over the age of 30 knows you cant thrash out ALL the time any more. At least I cant, lol. So my listening tastes have varied a bit as Ive gotten older. I always liked Meatloaf as I think in his prime he was super talented and Bat is one of the greatest albums ever made MHO. I like some of Evanescense (sp?) stuff since I dig her voice. Then I like anything weird or funny. Or just strange. Like those Group X guys who were running around the net for a while. And Ive numa numaed a couple of times. I like a lot of Stephen Lynchs stuff and this new kid Bo Burham from YT. Hes hilarious and a smart kid. And of course Wham. Just wake me up before you go go. skm0308 10-15-2008, 08:59 PM My tastes vary a lot, grew up on Hank Jr, Merle and Dwight Yoakum, but I mainly listen to Pantera, Metallica (pre Black album :D) and Down now. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e41/skm0308/Metallica.jpg nickstone 10-16-2008, 12:06 AM It depends on what kind of mood I'm in. I did grow up listening to blues and punk stuff so I still have a soft spot for some of the new delta stuff and anything resembling the old punk but over all it is korn, kid rock, tool, disturbed etc.... Tama 10-17-2008, 09:06 AM I listen to all types of music. Was a dance teacher for a long time so everything from classical to rock. Even put together a 45 minute ballet performance to Metallica. Eric Burke 10-17-2008, 12:43 PM Like a little bit of everything! I also play guitar for about 10yrs. Dream Theater is my favorite band. Everyone in that band can play like nobodys bussiness! Tool is up there to. CBMorphs 10-17-2008, 01:19 PM Indie Rock Chimpkin 10-17-2008, 01:44 PM Add one more Dream Theater fan to the list. I have all of their cd's and most of their live dvd's. They are awesome. earthpig23 10-17-2008, 04:53 PM I love music. i listen to mostly metal everything from stone sour to death metal like devil driver. My favorite band is Slipknot but lately have pushed five finger death punch up there as a close second. Worked as barracade security in front of stage for a major outdoor concert amphitheatre so got to see alot of great shows this year. craziest ones were wapred tour and of course mayhem fest. I also enjoy different music at diffirent times..some old dark and twisted sounding bach and mozart at times.....even listen to hip hop on occasion when im in the mood..i love Eminems twisted humor and crazy lyrics. The only the i can say and yes its oh so terrile lol is I just can't ever get into country. at times if Im around it to long I actual get a headache. probably Psychosematic but ano matter just dont like it. :rockon:Hell yea grunt_11b2007 10-19-2008, 12:55 AM Country, Blues, and 70's rock..
