Does anybody here have these? They are pretty and I want some. Or, maybe I don't if someone else has kept them and found out something bad? Any input would be great.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: Too funny!!! As if he would respond to a pm... lmao!

Besides, isn't that gnome movie coming out soon? I'm sure he's at the theater in a tent just waiting for it to open.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I haven't kept them but have researched them quite a bit.

Easy to maintain, breed and those that keep them seem to like them a lot.

Being climbers and fliers precautions are needed to prevent escapees. Adults will readily fly out of enclosures when opened. This shouldn't be a long term problem as they are not considered and indoor invasive species.

As nymphs they are brown or black and burrowers. I could see this being problematic if you need to harvest small ones as feeders. Can be kept in glass aquaria with fine mesh screen lids and Vaseline barrier which would make them nice for display if that's what your into.

Keep on moist coco fiber and standard roach fare for food.

Yup! Got a starter colony?

BigT, sounds like the rest of them I have, lol! Well, except I keep them in big plastic bins with fine mesh vents...

What all kinds of roaches do you have? He asks with trepidation.:lmao: and are they feeders or pets?

Feeders for sure! LOL!!! I've got hissers and fdh's and orange spots. Between all the lizards, amphibians, and inverts I need to do something to keep the cricket bill down! And I like roaches, they are so much cleaner then crickets as well. Well, except the hissers, those are cleaned twice as often and still have a tendency to smell like a high school boys locker room.

I had to ask, one can never be sure with you darlin' LOL

I remember when hissers were first introduced as "pet" roaches. Living in NYC and my pet shop showed them to me. Yea, right New Yorkers raising roaches for pets. Let me know how that works out for you.

Very familiar with dh's from Mexico. Twice a year they would all come out in a frenzy flying and fluttering all over. Covered every surface couldn't help but walk on them. Made for an interesting evening.

Never done orange spots. We currently have a colony of dubias going for the wife's lizards.

Crix are a necessary evil. Stinky, noisy and generally a PITA.

LMAO at never being sure with me! The problem is that I can't even argue that, haha!

We actually do sell hissers as pets, as well as feeders. Kids seem to do pretty good with the hissers, I like selling them to people that come in wanting an iguana for their 6 year old. We also have a gal that buys them and decorates them. She glues on little glittery stuff. She ain't quite right...

I can deal with the roaches in a cage. I can't handle them out of them, I'd have lost it in Mexico! I hate it in Florida when the sun goes down and all of a sudden they are everywhere.. euwww. Funny like that, I guess.

Being a Noo Yawker and after the Mexico experience I can't believe I have a big tub of roaches in my snake/bedroom. I guess that says something about how I feel about the wife. :lmao:

I might know someone who knows someone... Give me some time to track people down and I will see what I may be able to do.

Cool! Course, sounds like a dark corner deal... trench coats and sunglasses, undergroud dealings of roaches... :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Seriously though, let me know what you find out! Thanks!

(There are some places on line that sell them. I just wanted to "keep it local" so to say, figure if anybody on here has them I'd sooner give them money then someone I don't "know".)

Nothing really back corner :p I just need to see if either my buddy from Atl still knows how to get hold of his old roach guy or my other buddy (who was in Atl but in now in Seattle) is in touch with his old roach people since he got out of keeping shortly before moving.

I will let you know what I scare up
