I really love what that does to those Butters. I dont know much about the "het cajun" other than the pics I have seen, so just a question. Are you sure that its not a het red? Have you produced a super? Thanks for filling me in.

Thanks for the interest Noah. I posted pics of the Het Cajun sib to the Butter Het doing the breeding in this pic a while back. The girl in this post is a captive hatched animal unrelated to any captive morph. She was bred to my STUNNING Butter male last season and produced a clutch of 8, including 2 Butter Het Cajun males. Both fed great and are 850 grams plus. They are both breeding, and the plan is to pair this slightly prettier male with a Pastel, a Yellow Belly, a Cinny and maybe a Black Pastel.

I hesitate to reference other breeders animals. All indications so far are that these Het Cajuns will CONSISTENTLY produce full broad black backs!!! Also, I think they will be incredible with color morphs like Butters, Lessers and Enchis etc..

This is my first try at a super of course, and I am using this male with the one Woods het Red I have in order tho see if they are compatable. If they are, I could hit a super in each clutch. :wamma:

I though a het was a normal that carries a gene that can only be reproduced when bred with another het?

So if the Mom is a Cajun and the Butter son is a het Cajun, how are you trying to get a Super Cajun? Wouldn't the son and the mother either both be Cajuns that will produce a super, or they are both het Cajuns that will produce a Cajun?

I have been thinking about that. The mom is most likely not homozygous and therefore a base morph. If a super proves, I might consider using Cajun for the base morph(mom) and Super Cajun for homozygous offspring. Using Het in a codom morph can be confusing I agree. :yessir:
