looking to get a Harley in the next year or so. Grew up riding dirt bikes but this will be my first street bike. My father has had quite a few but he is more of a road king and dresser sort of guy. I've been looking at used night trains and deuce's. Anyone on here have either......or something similar? Pros? Cons? Suggestion?

I've got 2 right now. I have a 2006 Sportster 1200 custom and a 2008 Dyna Lowrider. Like them both. The 1200 is more of a good solo rider, Lowrider is a great cruising bike.

Thanks brother!! Hopefully this spring I'm going to get some upgrading done to the Dyna. I want to change out the rims for spokes and some different pipes, intake etc.

very nice rides bill, love that sporster

jonf, i have never really cared for the night train or the duece, i think the sportsters or fatboys are the way to go.

Thanks guys!

The Sportster is a blast, its my "ride without the wife" bike. It has a lowered suspension and rides a little too rough for her.

nice bikes!......I'm a fan of spokes too and I'm sure they'd look pretty sweet on the Dyna.

Yeah, they should look sweet on there. I'm also going to change the front out for the larger 21" rim and tire.

I prefer the fatboys personally.... I wish I had pics of the Big Dog Bulldog I had in Hawaii. Bought it brand new and had it shipped to the island cheaper than I could buy one on the island. Burnt orange and decked out baby! 307 back tire, 107 S&S engine....

It looked something like this one but orange....

Thanks Bill. You got some nice rides yourself there my man. My neighbor had a fatboy and that thing rode like a dream compared to my Big Dog! You gotta go big or go home in Hawaii... those boys dont play over there!!!!

And a bit of advice for those traveling to Hawaii: If a ginormous Samoan guy ever says "Hey Brada! You gotta beef?", he aint asking if you got an extra steak... He is about to give you a beat down. My suggestion is to RUN LIKE HELL!!!!! :machinegun:

Yes they do and lots of other names I didnt understand. Something else I never understood. The Samoans dont like the soldiers being there because they say we are intruding on THEIR island... hhhmmmmm... last I checked Samoa wasnt part of the Hawaiian Islands!!!!

If your not stuck on a Harly you might check out the VTX. They make a 1300 and an 1800 and they are reliable and FAST! Being an old dirtbike rider myself I am stuck on high proformance and a VTX fuel injected and water cooled with a PC3 fuel injection system Dyno'ed with a good force air induction and you will be rockin!

here is my VTX 1800 R/S

Believe it or not, when I was stationed at Ft Richardson, Alaska. I met quite a few Samoans while I was on a billiards league. They were some pretty cool dudes. Of course, I don't think they claim Alaska as theirs.
