FedEx Packaging Lab Tech
FedEx Packaging Services no longer covers the costs of shipping test packaging to our labs. If you request, we will continue to return test packaging free of charge via FedEx Express Saver® or FedEx Ground® service. Or you may request return of your test package via other FedEx services at your own expense.
Varanette 12-23-2008, 02:34 PM huh, isn't that interesting....I don't knwo why people don't us UPS for shipping. I work were we shipp over a 100 packages daily...and we use DHL, FedEx and UPS...and I LOVE UPS! They are AWESOME!
UPS is working on allowing for delivery of live animals. Currently, its a no-no. (roomy works for UPS and REALLY wants to see this happen) I believe Robin from ProExotics is pushing the red tape to make this a go.
Rick247 12-23-2008, 02:39 PM As of right now ups won't ship snakes. Pro Exotics is working with them to try and get this done now.
Varanette 12-23-2008, 02:55 PM OH WOW! I didn't know that......that's too bad, b/c UPS is way more effiecent then FedEx and they are cheaper too! :D Watch out new spokes person for UPS comeing through....LOL!

That's really odd, considering I was just on the phone with Packaging services 3 hours ago and they told me to just check the "bill to recipient" box for my test package. As long as it's shipped 2 day air they'll pay for it. Where did you hear this at?
AaronP 12-23-2008, 04:11 PM Wow a lot of the reps at FEDEX really suck these days.
xanaxez 12-23-2008, 05:29 PM well thats a cut back probably and beginning of 09 the rates are going to be increased.
Rick247 12-23-2008, 06:42 PM It was emailed to me today. I passed the test.
I was first told to check that box. It then ask for an account number. I was told by some people that I was supposed to get a number witch i was not able to do by contacting the rep or anyone else. After getting the run around , someone in packaging told me to just ship it with my account and I would get the money back. Well I got this today. I will just be happy I can ship snakes now I guess.
Rick247 12-23-2008, 06:43 PM I did ship it 2DAY too.
Southern Wolf 12-23-2008, 07:31 PM Your rep should have been able to get that number for you... mine did for me.
FloridaHogs 12-23-2008, 07:49 PM Some reps just do not want to be bothered!
Southern Wolf 12-23-2008, 07:51 PM Sucks for them then... cause thats their job... to help their clients.
JChandler 12-23-2008, 09:51 PM That is really strange....
Some reps just do not want to be bothered!
Just call them more that always works :yessir:
AaronP 12-23-2008, 10:27 PM well thats a cut back probably and beginning of 09 the rates are going to be increased.
Yep, cause in this failing economy increasing prices is the way to go.

UPS has allowed the shipping of non-venomous small-medium size reptiles, with the exception of snakes, for years. It is the shipping of snakes that they are currently working on getting approved.

Rick, until you sign and fax the waiver agreement you aren't authorized to ship snakes. Package testing is only half the battle. You need to get the results to your rep and have him get the waiver drawn up with his legal dept.

yup.... what he said. They will email you a pdf copy... you sign and send it back to them... once they get it and get you in the system... then you can ship.
