The room looks great Jon, it looks like it should be easy to keep clean and plenty of room to grow into. Nice job.

In the states here, there are a lot of places to get them from. I have a few more that I didn't hang up but look similar to these. But I believe I got one in Orlando at some voodoo store and the other one at a flea market.

True! And I'm sure he doesn't approve of the couch in here...................it's just taking up space for BHP cages! :lmao:

yes sir. And since these pics, I've fixed the ceiling to make it look a little nicer. It was bothering me!

Did you just frame up and rock a wall just inside the garage door?

Looks fantastic man!

Thanks, appreciate the comments! Luckily I have a family friend who is a reputable contractor. He did the electrical, the side door, AC duct, and the wall. I painted, did the floor, and a few other minor details. Should have taken some before and after pics but as usual I was too busy working and I just wasn't thinking about it.

I had him insulate that wall really good because the garage door would get blasted with sun and would just act like a hot plate - this was of course when it was just a garage and I had the rats in it. I was still nervous when it started getting hot out - it's 90 in Florida now - but the room actually gets too cool sometimes and I have to close the AC vent! Who would have thought??

Awesome snake room. IS it your garage? Im looking to take over my garage. I need help figuring out a good way to maintain temps......heat and air for the detached garage.

yep.......I'm lucky enough to have a lot of yard space so I have a shed for my garage stuff and a shed for my rats. I was worried about keeping the temps stable but the insulation seems to be working really, really well and my friend who did the work just ran a duct into the garage for the AC. I'm in Florida and it's crept up into the 90's recently and it stays room temp in there.............almost too cool sometimes.

just out of curiousity.....are those shelves melamine? and are they sagging yet on the rack with the larger tubs?

yeah, the melamine sags a little bit but it's workable. Both of these racks have been taken apart and moved a few times and the weird thing is that they almost keep getting better! I tweak them a little bit when I move them and they just work for me. I'd love to have a room full of ARS or Freedom Breeder racks but I can't justify forking out the money when I can just build them.

i feel ya!!! they look good though, i wouldn't have expected it was built and taken apart several times.

i personally prefer the wooden/melamine racks verse open air metal racks.....they hold heat better, but are hella heavy!
