Seeing eggs hatch is the most excited and rewarding part of the hobby for me......
I lose sleep at night when eggs are hatching and have been known to call in sick to work as well......lmao!

That is an Amealco, Mexico Lampropeltis ruthveni. Queretaro King Snake, Plateau Mountain Kingsnake or Ruthven's Kingsnake.
The male is an striped/aberrant morph. The female carries the gene as well.
There are Striped, Super stripes, Albinos and Albino Stripes but NO Albino Super Stripes yet.........

And here I thought it was just a couple more snakes doing the horizontal bop. :lol:

John I lived about an hour outside of Queretaro in a little town San Miguel de Allende. Sadly whenever I asked the locals about finding snakes for me they would bring me snake skins. They couldn't understand I wanted them alive. Just another crazy gringo. :lmao:

Thanks Justin for the compliments.......I think about 30 of the potential 38 females are gravid......I just have my fingers crossed for some fertile eggs......The melanistic thayeri are breeding better this year than last. Last year she threw slugs....I hope she doesn't this year.......fingers crossed!

30 out of 38 is not bad. I haven't even started pairing up my Corns and Kings yet. You've still got a lot of season left for the other 8 to get bred. Regardless, you're going to be producing some amazing hatchlings!
