Eat this one while pinning that one to make sure it doesn't go anywhere! :lmao: Looks good! Quig 04-12-2011, 11:11 PM Nom nom nom.... Eat this one while pinning that one to make sure it doesn't go anywhere! :lmao: Looks good! LOL, that's one thing I like about em. They aren't very strong constrictors, and are nest robbers by nature, so they'll pin anything that moves to the wall and hold it there till they finish what they're doing. Did you notice he grabbed that first one by the butt? Took him near 15 minutes to get it down :lmao: Sara 04-12-2011, 11:12 PM LOL, that's one thing I like about em. All my hogs are like that too, and if they are fed small they'll try to take it down sideways too! Silly snakes! Quig 04-12-2011, 11:17 PM LMAO!!! It's so funny when they do that! All my hogs are like that too, and if they are fed small they'll try to take it down sideways too! Silly snakes! What's funny with hogs is when they take a toad butt first. Can you imagine how hard it is to get those back legs to fold up? :lmao: :lmao: Sara 04-12-2011, 11:19 PM What's funny with hogs is when they take a toad butt first. I want a pic of that!:lmao::lmao::lmao::cheers: It'll have to wait till spring, but I'll get you a shot  That's part of what makes me believe a big snake can swallow a human. Truth to tell though, I think a hogs jaws are just more flexible than a pythons. Reminds me of Kevin BACON and tremors! That's the reason I like feedin' these guys live. Something gets within range and they ERUPT from just below the surface. I wish I was quick enough with the camera to catch that once. Sputnik 04-12-2011, 11:53 PM That's the reason I like feedin' these guys live. Dan W 04-13-2011, 05:42 AM They are very cool. Nice pic. Dan Bigtattoo 04-13-2011, 06:33 AM Sweet little Saharan Q. From observing my own collection I've determined that "butt first" eating is not a species specific trait. I sometimes wonder if most of mine aren't from the 90% that would not survive to adulthood in the wild. Quig 04-13-2011, 07:12 AM Sweet little Saharan Q. I think it has more to do with timing, or excitablity at feeding time :D Cam5 04-13-2011, 09:36 AM Fun picture! I love how ours lies in wait (all the time...LOL) and when that meal does show up the response is a huge burst, even for the f/t meals she gets. How old is this one? Just love that chocolate brown:) Quig 04-13-2011, 09:59 AM He's between 3 and 4 years. I've got a trio and hope to breed them someday. Cam5 04-13-2011, 10:14 AM He sure is a great looking one! Keep us updated on the breeding plans:) Quig 04-13-2011, 10:48 AM Will do  S.Gilbert 04-21-2011, 12:13 PM Nice picture. I have several Boas that have eaten "butt" first and even a few that ate sideways... taking a loooong time to "fold" their meal in half to get it down. |
