Sorry about the lighting. Outdoors and partial cloudy made it sorta inconsistent. But you get the idea.
Hope you enjoy the pics!

Thanks Rick
Nah, all my animals are puppy dog tame.
Yeah right. LOL Aurora's baby likely won't nip at you. That litter seemed to get their moms calmness, and have all been pretty good kids.
Now the Salmons just might take a little taste though. Depends on their mood I guess. Sometimes they're calm, sometimes they're all defensive.
But I'm sure once they see how bad you taste, that they'll give that crap up real soon afterward.
norsmis 12-28-2008, 07:18 AM Nah, all my animals are puppy dog tame.
Yeah, we have seen pics of your "calm" babies before! Mouth agape and ready to rip your nose off!
But I'm sure once they see how bad you taste, that they'll give that crap up real soon afterward.
Sorry Kev but :lmao:
Varanus99 12-28-2008, 07:29 AM Wow. Im really digging these salmons. I LOVE that reduced pattern.
You grabbing all these boys, Kev? Nice pick up.
Id take a bite or two from them if I had to...:yessir:
SublimeBoa 12-28-2008, 08:16 AM Wow. Im really digging these salmons. I LOVE that reduced pattern.
Yeah, me too. I want to try and isolate that trait if I can. I'm keeping one the their Salmon Brothers just for that purpose. Well, that and his reverse stripe.
http://www.sublimeboa.com/Content/Photos/4Sale/SM31_M/11-22-08/DSC_9930.JPG
Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and actually be able to refine that trait.
Varanus99 12-28-2008, 08:22 AM Good gosh you got some crazy stuff there.
Do you think the pattern could be genetic or do you feel its a line bred trait? Id guess line bred but thats a pure guess.
Got another question do you think its possible to get that reduced pattern and light color with a bright red tail? For instance breeding a salmon to a good quality suriname or something like that? Or would that not really be compatible?
SublimeBoa 12-28-2008, 08:37 AM Crossing the Ssp barrier is not something that I encourage. Panamanian BCI to a Colombian BCI is one thing. Both are BCI, same Ssp. BCI and BCC will never naturally occur together, so natural integration won't occur. So I don't think man should change that. But people are gonna do what people are gonna do.
To answer your question, in my case, it just popped up. We'll see with some trials weather it's genetic or not. But yes, I believe certain traits can be isolated through selective breeding as well. In fact, people have done it many times. Salmons are just one, Genetic stripes another, Pastels, and probably a couple more I ain't thinking of, all were selectively bred.

Ah I never even considered that aspect of it. The crossing of Ssp. Good point.
Thanks for the clarification :yessir:

Desert 12-28-2008, 03:13 PM Now, Southern Wolf did you buy that male?
That male is nice enough to cause that unconscious, involuntary (and repetitive) review in the back of the snake-sick mind that goes something like: " Hmmm I wonder how&where I could squeeze this guy into my breeding plans here". heh heh. Congratulations on your purchase.

I dont think I can talk Rick into selling Lucy... and I prob couldnt afford her if he did.
