Big congrats Jenea, it's amazing how they can fit in that tiny egg, their heads are almost the size of the egg!!

Jenea,
that is not an uncommon thing to have happen with hog eggs... Not sure what can cause such a rapid decalcification of the egg... It happend with a few of mine last season but not to the degree yours cleared up though... Pretty cool if ya ask me...

Jenea do you use tap water or distilled water to moisten your perlite?

Every egg from my anaconda x toffee clutch did that last year just hours before they hatched. It's very cool to see.

Wow Jenea, that is way cool! I had them do like the one in the middle, kinda of windows right before hatching, but not totally clear, that's just neat!! Talk about your sneak peek!

Well, this was a crap shot clutch to begin with. Wasn't sure if this female could produce viable eggs or not. Her first clutch for me 2 years ago looked like this:

They were ugly eggs to begin with, so the fact any made it to term is a good thing. Every egg that went totally transparent like that ended up dead. Fully developed, but dead. After the first 3, I cut the last two that did the whole see thru thing....lived for a short time, but ultimately died before exiting the egg. All 5 failed to absorb the yolk, so I do not know if that was the issue with them or not.

Now the one egg to hatch that surprised me was the ugly one on the bottom..
