These are some CB08 El Salvadorian Dwarf Boas I picked up earlier in the year. Gorgeous little snakes and one of, if not the smallest locality around! Good temperament on the female, the male likes to pretend he's a staple gun though!!! I bought them as a pair, however I am going to probe them when there 12-18 months old to check sexes, just in case!!!

These are some of the best examples I have seen - gorgeous pink/orange bellies and deep red tails - the female colour changes a lot, the male is usually dark. Female has 28 saddles and the male has 30 - has several people tell me there Nicaraguan due to saddle count, however El Salvador's have a huge number of saddles also and the pink bellies to me indicate these are not Nicaraguans!

nice examples indeed. would love to see the color changes on the girl
Nice animals. So what is their adult size?
females max at 5 foor and males max at 4 foot - saying that i know of someone in the UK with a 38inch proven female and a 28 inch proven male!

there usually ok - the female is very calm, the male can be calm, but other times he is a bit snappy and does take a swing at you. It's this that makes me want to probe them myself in a year or so - because i often find females to be snappy and not males which makes me wonder if he is a male!
I will get some pictures of the female next time shes in a dark mood and again when she is feeling light!
Beautiful local...I'd love to see that color change too...
Nice boas they are really sharp looking.

thanks for all the nice comments everyone! I will hopefully have some more pics of the male up within the next few days and some of the female too - trying to get as many pics of her as i can to show what colours she can be
Really nice looking pair of animals.
You can do the ventral palpitation for very accurate sexing without the invasive probing technique.
Another clue with CA strains is the males will grow faster in length then the females for the first few months, then the girls just take off all of a sudden and start stacking girth.
Keeping your males on the nippy side will help with future breeding attempts.
