Alright I guess I have to make a newbie post.......I have started my first breeding this year and my female has some really nice sized follicles going. I have witnessed over fifteen locks between her and her boyfriend since the beginning of November, and her follicles have grown to now the size of ping pong balls. At this size, have I missed ovulation or should it come soon? I have seen a definite shift in her weight over the last two months. She is a lot thicker in the lower half/third of her body now. she has lightened in color and spends a lot of time on the cool end. All the signs are there. I check on her a couple of times every day but haven't as of yet seen any big swelling that to me looked like ovulation. If anyone can chime in with their experience I would really appreciate it!!

If your watching her everyday - You won't miss ovulation...If your palpating her and the follicles are hard then their still follicles and she hasn't ovulated yet...If they fell like water ballons then she has ovulated and your feeling eggs...If their as big as golf balls it won't be long now...

Sounds like I may have missed it. They feel squishy now and have grown very quickly in the last week. They almost feel watery now and not hard. Thanks Brother!

Once they get to the size of golf balls and larger, I usually don't even look for the ovlulation, I just start looking for the next shed cycle. That shed cycle should be the POS, mark it down and start counting down the days...:D

So what if they are quarter size?? Could she still reabsorb them?? I'm going to put my male on her and see what happens.. Oh and where on the female do you feel the follicles?? I need to make sure what I'm feeling is follicles..!! LOL
