FloridaHogs 12-29-2008, 11:19 PM Awe, she wasn't angry, she was just yawning.
Awe, she wasn't angry, she was just yawning.
Either yawning or flexing her jaws for that next anticipated meal :D Neat shot regardless.

She is a funny eater. She was found in someones house. I was going to relocate and release her, but noticed she was blind in one eye (blown pupil). I figured that was why she was so thin, si I kept her. Sometimes she will pound f/t and other times she will only eat live (with lots of supervision from me).
Great pic that's one big yawn. Congrats on the timing to capture that one.
FloridaHogs 12-30-2008, 08:00 AM Thankjs Tama. She was funny, when she saw me she froze with her mouth open..."If I don't move they won't see me!"
Varanus99 12-30-2008, 08:05 AM Thankjs Tama. She was funny, when she saw me she froze with her mouth open..."If I don't move they won't see me!"

"Ok, gotta stay still. They cant see me if I dont move. Just act natural. Uh oh..mouth getting dry. Mouth getting dry. Ok Plan B, Plan B!. Damn, I never formulate a Plan B..."
Mrs. Sputnik 12-30-2008, 10:16 AM Awe, she wasn't angry, she was just yawning.
Sure sure admitting is the first step

She is the only grey rat I have ever had, that has never tried to bite me. :)

Cheers,
Kat
FloridaHogs 12-30-2008, 01:43 PM I think she knows I am helping her. The Grey Rats are some of the smartest snakes I have.
Southern Wolf 12-30-2008, 05:56 PM A Little croppin... and you can bring those teeth front and center. :)
FloridaHogs 12-30-2008, 09:50 PM Teeth!?! That is more like velcro!!
norsmis 12-30-2008, 09:55 PM Nice pic Jenea! I think grey rats are under rated... I had a pair of white oaks a few years back and they were pretty calm....
FloridaHogs 12-30-2008, 09:58 PM They are just so smart. They are the only snakes I have that "check" their entire cage everytime I open it, to make sure I closed it back tight. Had one figure out how to open up a critter keeper when he was smaller. They are smart, very watchful, and they study you.
norsmis 12-30-2008, 10:00 PM They are smart! The female I had was kept in a cage because she could get out of any tub you put her in.....
FloridaHogs 12-30-2008, 10:03 PM This one pictured got out once. I looked all over for her and had given up. Found her curled up on the printer behind my desk watching me on the computer.

She was probably laughing just like in that picture!!!
FloridaHogs 12-30-2008, 10:18 PM Yup, probably was watching me the entire time!
Rapture 12-31-2008, 01:00 AM Nice shot... there's an advantage to cages vs racks. ;)
