Larrie, tics on ball pythons are uncommon at best, unless you get a wild caught specimen. If the animal has been born and/or bred in captivity it's not likely to have tics.

The type of morph it is ( albino, spider, pied etc.) has nothing to do with whether or not it will get tics.

Tics come with imported ball pythons.... usually adults.

Larrie I have only seen posts about eye anomalies in albinos but this is probably due to inbreeding . Not sure if it is even common .

I have 2 vanillas with a "small eye". They were not from inbreeding and all the siblings were good. I have also seen it in a firefly and heard about it in other morphs and even other species. So basically I think the eye anomalies are probably random and definitely not linked to albinos or any morph for that matter.

No real tics associated with Albinos in general. There are some reported instances of issues when there has been inbreeding (see RDR and the "Granite" Albinos he has) but if you are dealing with outcrossed animals you should be fine.

Only problems I have ever ran into with albino's is feeding issues. Again this is my experience. My albinos and a friends are terrible eaters.
Most ball pythons have periods of fasting throughout there life times. My albinos hate food. Usually they will eat once a month if I am lucky. I have a female that has been fasting for over 8 months now. Only meal in that time was a pup. Hope my info helped. Again I have seen many that eat great and have talked to many that have the same issues I do. Sorry not trying to turn this into a feeding problem thread. I however consider the fact that most I have seen do not eat well a tic on feeding response or lack of interest for whatever reasons.

Peace, J

We repeated that breeding last year....the Granite female (now you would call her a yellow head) to a different het son still a brother.....ten eggs ...two did not hatch...two died in the egg hatching...six perfect albinos.....all ten where albinos....

we have had the most trouble with albinos right at hatching....and you see a lot of wrapped umbilicals....you see a lot of threads on the forums of dead albinos at hatching...yes some people have no issues....but I have talked to others who agree....

never had any issues making hets....
we have never had any other issues with albinos.....and we get better hatching results from older females....

You see a lot of deformed albinos in nature...maybe the same issues in balls...
