Damnitbonnie 12-30-2008, 02:19 PM Where do you live? Here in Detroit we got 8 inches on the 19th. Then another 4 over the next couple days. Then rain and freezing rain and on Saturday it was 60. Expecting more snow tonight. So far this winter has been worse than the past 3 put together. I sure hope it calms down. Glad I don't live farther north.

Actually, I am further north and it's not as bad as previous years. We still have a couple of feet on the ground but it seems that most of the big storms have been sliding south of us. It actually started melting yesterday a bit, of course it cooled down again and now we have a nice layer of glare ice under the dusting of snow we're getting today.
All I see is a lot of time in a plow truck if it were here! I do like snow, everything always looks so clean and pure........

Till the salt trucks and traffic hit. Then it's just dirty. I live on a main street.

Really? I grew up in Edgeley ND which is also about 60 miles from Bismarck. Had some great winter storms out there. I remember drifts coming right up to the peak of the roof. It was fun.
I got confused and thought YOU were in Detroit. But that was another poster.

Edgeley is east of Bismarck, it's straight south of Jamestown.

I agree. Detroit ain't no fun but at least we get a couple extra seasons. And we don't measure our snow in feet.

Andrew do you shovel or tunnel?
LMAO! That's alot of snow. So how long did it take to plow out? The only time my car was ever buried like that, my "loving" brothers buried it with the snow from the roof of the garage on a Saturday morning.
Wild Bill 12-31-2008, 11:03 AM Reminds me of the snow we had when I lived in Alaska
Where did you live when you were there? I used to be stationed at Ft Richardson just outside Anchorage for 3 years (1995-1998). Gotta love Alaska in the summer time.
