So today my husband gets this email to confirm a wire transfer out of our bank account by me! No way buddy, we are immediately on the phone with them. Appearently, a lady called stating she was me, knew my date of birth, last four of my social, and my account number!!! BURNS me UP!!!!!! Had to go down and completely close my account, and reopen one with all this crazy password stuff. I can't even go to the teller now without having to give a top secret password. To top it off, I have to call all the credit bureaus and my credit cards to place fraud alerts.:mad::mad::mad:

It's just ridiculous the things that some people try to do. What ever happened to working for your money and actually EARNING the things you want? I say bring back capital punishment for things like this.

Exactly!! Get as job for crying out loud!

Fortunately, thank the Lord, everytime something like this has happened, we caught it immediately and have not lost any money. All three of our bank accounts were hit this year in various ways, but this was the worst.

Good thing you caught it before it escalated! I wish we could hang those people from their fingernails! anything that will hurt enough to make them stop scamming.

I think only death will stop them...I think some people just have that type mentality.

I think only death will stop them..

I have no problems with that penalty for scumbags like this..... But I am from Texas. Most states abolished the death penalty... in Texas we put in an express lane!!!!!!

Yeah to much second guessing on these types of scumbags happens in most places and next thing you know they are right back at it again:machinegun:

No, not the death penalty. Give the death penalty, they're dead anyway and don't have to live with their choices. It may sound harsh, but I say make them regret making that choice for the rest of their lives.

Yeah same for me. It pisses me off that people can go so low to scam and threaten responsible hard working people. Everyday I have to clean my computer in fear of fraud. Its sad.

I'm sorry to hear that -- it really sucks but you are luck you caught it early!

Several years ago I got my purse stolen from the park -- I was diligent in cancelling all my cards and stuff -- it still ended up screwing up my credit -- and about 5 years later I found out the person that stole my purse had also been using my drivers license and I had outstanding traffic violations. People suck.

I have ideas for folks like that. Most are painful, a lot are embarrassing, quite a few are both. ALL would make them want to go to a very special Hell full of Ex Mother in Laws on perpetual PMS.

I had someone in Europe buy a $1700 plane ticket with my debit card, drained my bank account and started to hit my savings. I had to close my account that I've had for 21 years. I now have a seperate debit card that I use for online purchases and I'll transfer as much money as I need to it to make the purchase, otherwise it's got $5 in the account. So if any punk steals this one they get a whopping $5. Oh and my bank was very cooperative and I got my $1700 back the next day, still a huge pain!
