If anyone out there is around the Twin Cities area in Minnesota, you might want to stop in at the Minnesota Herp Societies next meeting on Jan 9th at 7:00pm There are going to be two speakers giving presentations. The first will be Marc Bailey talking about Ball Pythons, and the second will be Andrew Wyatt talking about USARK. So if you have any questions for either of these two people or just want to hear what they have to say you're welcome to come to the next MHS meeting at 7:00 p.m. in room 335 of Borlaug Hall on the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus.

Here is a link if you want to read more about it.

Well, unfortunately Marc Bailey won't be able to make it now, he had an emergency come up and had to go back home to Louisiana so had to cancel as a speaker. Andrew Wyatt is still scheduled to speak and it should be an informative talk. Also, due to a scheduling conflict the meeting will now be in room 33 in McNeal Hall instead of 335 Borlaug hall where it usually is. Here is a little campus map showing where the room is. http://www1.umn.edu/twincities/maps/McNH/McNH-map.html You can see it's not too far away, it's just south of the usual place and you can still park in the usual parking lot.

Well, the meeting starts in about an hour in case anyone else is going. If so, see you there.

Hey Mark - I emailed US Ark earlier this week but got no response -- if you are going to the meeting can you ask if the new cities program is restricted to closed collections.

Thanks!

Ended up doing some stuff with my brother, so I didn't make it to the meeting. Let me know how it went. Too bad about Marc having to cancel.

Sorry Tosha, I didn't get a chance to see your post until after I got back from the meeting. Nothing from cities was covered at all, most of the talk centered around the HR 3611 bill. Never really got a chance to talk to Andrew face to face...

It was actually pretty good, One of Marc's employees brought up a $1000.00 check to Andrew for USARK so even though he couldn't be there in person he was able to contribute.

Andrew talked a lot about USARK and took a LOT of questions from the audience and did a good job of fielding questions. Personally I'm not totally sold on the concept as it's been explained to me, but it's a work in progress and it's really the only game in town so I'll probably throw my support behind it even though I don't understand it all the way.
