This past spring, several members from our site (Herpfamily.com) went on our annual trip to Snake Road in southern IL.

We had a little poor luck finding many snakes, but there were several other herps to be discovered. Here are some of the highlights.

That Cotton mouth is so cool looking....you just can't beat the pictures of animals in thier natural setting I think :)

Snake Road is near Shiloh, if I recall.

Snake Road is right down the road from Wolf Lake, IL... it is in the Shawnee National Forrest.

I have been lucky enough to make the trip 3 times... and had a blast all three times.

You got some nice stuff there Mike.... I remember.... that after a while... I got tired of continually turning up ringnecks. Did you not get a photo of that small fossorial snake there past the whole in the wall. I thought everyone got a shot at him.

I dont know if you have seen these are not... so I will post them again... these are from the Fall trip that Me, Randy, and Josh made... wish you could have made it.

Yeah, hopefully we can make it again for the fall trip. I'd like to see more hots and I know Z is itching to see a green snake.
