Aside from the Snake Road trip, I didn't get a lot of field herpin' in this past year. But picture below are two memorable finds.

This was a large black racer found in Mobile county under some plywood.

This was a huge ratsnake (presumably E. obsoleta sp.) discovered while canoing down the Escatapwa river.

That's a pretty cool looking black racer..I found a few of them growing up around here..They were always eager to bite more so then then the normal Black rat snakes...More flighty as well it seemed...

Freezing cold around here. Can't wait to get out this summer. Looks like fun I love canoing too.

Nah...didn't mess with the racer. I didn't feel like disturbing him since he was so nice to sit still for a few pics.

Looked like fun. I have to go out and get some excersise, I might go herping.
