I wanna buy a different morph of ball python than the normal morph, and they're insane! i mean for herps that are younger than 18. Are there any breeders in the mooresville area with interesting morphs for less than $100?

there just a few morphs for under 100$. male yellow bellys and pastels maybe. but thats than about it i guess...

im in ur place would buy 3 female normals. raise em solwly and in 2 years u buy a 2 gene male like a lesser pastel or so. raise him a year and start to breed em. u can run this male threw ur 3 females and with some luck ull get 2 clutches...

then sell or trade the babies and get some single gene female morphs. maybe a mojo female or so. raise her and breed her to your lesser pastel and hope to produce a pastel blue eyed lucy.

and so on and on...

and therere beautiful normals too. think about what u wanna breed later. if u wanna get a pastel lesser, look for very light coloured reduced patterned normals. if u wanna get a cinni male later, search a really dark female with floating pattern on the sides.

selective breeding does sometimes more than breeding a pastel to a spider

I’ve seen male cinny's for $100 as well.......

for some breeding is a hobby...while for others it's their job (sole source of income). you can't expect to walk into an exotic car dealership and want a Lamborghini....and then when you are told the price....get upset about it being expensive.

You get what you pay for in anything you purchase...... prime example....pocketbikes..... you can get a Chinese knockoff for what $100-$200....or get an Italian make "DM" or "Polini" or even a "Blata" and expect to pay a couple thoousand $$$ for it.

Breeding itself takes time and "MONEY"....and selling the offspring is the only way to make a profit. The more desirable the morph the more it will be worth....the rarer the morph the more it will be worth.

If you want a different morph….do what everyone else has done….save up the money and buy one?!?!

…you can always post pics up to keep you motivated to getting you want you want and where you want to go.

What he said! :)

The prettier it is, the more money you got to dish out. It's true for most things in life. [ to our fortune...or misfortune, depending on how you look at it :) ] ~

Well considering you said you were 14 in your intro thread a lot of these posts don't really pertain to you. If you are looking for a nice pet, pastels, spiders, and cinnamon's are inexpensive. If you want to breed I wouldn't get any other those morphs. There are too many of them already and thats why they are cheap.

If you want to start a cheap breeding project look into getting some 100% hets, they are cheap and not that pretty (look like normals) but when bred together make some very nice snakes. Hets are for morphs like Albino, pied, clown, and more.

Make sure if you buy hets you get them from a well known breeder so you can better guarantee they are actually het.

james...
i hope you're not implying that 14 is too young for a young person to be working towards a goal...
we don't want to disillusion our under-aged members with notions that all good things can be had with birthday money.
both my kids were under 14 when they started earning some cha-ching... i was 11 when i began my life of indentured servitude... life ain't cheap, good stuff ain't cheap, and great stuff is even less cheap than that !

if you see it, and you like it, and you really really want it, get out there, earn some money, and buy it kid.
good luck,
ck

No, not at all. He was just asking about ball pythons under $100 that are good for some one under 18. He mentioned seeing all the insane morphs. I took that as meaning he didn't have the resources to buy the fancy bps that are going for thousands. And he got some responses that I thought might of been a bit over his head. He seems new and might not get exactl what all that meant.

I answered his question and no one else did. He asked about morphs under $100 and they exist so I answered.

Great advice! You can get several hatchling normals and get them up to size before buying a single or multi gene male. This is the best way for you to get your foot in the door. This hobby is definitely not for impatient people unless they have a limitless pocketbook :) Good luck!
