Last year when I was doing research on breeders for our Aussie puppy I'd run across this breeder (at the time she also had aussies) I'm very thankful that I'd done my research and found all the bad press before hand on her and steered my search clear. But it is sad that she continues to even be allowed to own animals after having been raided and shut down time and time again. I hope this time they feed her to her starving dogs.

Here's the story:

Charges weighed against Montana dog breeder

By MATTHEW BROWN – 12 hours ago

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A raid that resulted in the seizure of 189 English shepherds from a crowded kennel also turned up 10 frozen dog carcasses and a dead dog found beside the breeder's bed, authorities said Wednesday.

Deputy Yellowstone County Attorney Mark Murphy said a decision on whether to file charges against breeder Linda Kapsa will be made sometime next week.

Meanwhile, authorities were seeking tips into the fate of 50 pugs recently seen at Kapsa's Shady Lane Kennels but which are now missing.

The dogs seized Tuesday in Ballantine — many of them covered with fleas and feces and at least six that appeared gravely ill — were being held as evidence at the county fairgrounds in Billings.

"The law of the West is you don't abuse your animals," said County Commissioner Jim Reno. "Leaving little puppies out in below-zero weather, outside, without obvious food or shelter — that doesn't make it here."

Shady Lane Kennels sold dogs over the Internet and had been raided at least twice before, including in early December when 10 dogs were seized and 13 dead dogs were found.

Kapsa did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Authorities speculated that disease or recent subzero temperatures could have killed the 11 dogs found dead Tuesday. Dog carcasses found in the latest raid included six on a manure pile, four in a kennel, and one in Kapsa's house, beside her bed, said John Fleming, animal control officer for the sheriff's office.

All the dead animals except the one inside were frozen solid and one appeared to have been half-eaten by other dogs. Temperatures in Ballantine, which is on the outskirts of Billings, dropped to 15 to 20 degrees below zero within the last several weeks.

"We don't think there were any beatings or anything like that," Fleming said. "They could be dead of hypothermia."

Also seized Tuesday were 27 chickens. Nine horses and 10 ****atiels found on Kapsa's property were left behind. At least some of those animals also appeared to be getting inadequate care, said Dave Pauli, Northern Rockies director for the Humane Society of the United States.

I think the censore control oughta be tweaked just a bit. Pretty bad when you can't say c*^kateil.

Now as for Mrs./Ms. Kapska. Among everything else they found there was one NEXT to the bed she sleeps IN in the house. What about this DOESN'T spell abuse? I would go so far as to bet she's mentally unstable if that dog's been there for more than an hour. How can they let that woman possibly keep any kind of animals? When something like this is so obvious I don't think the judicial system, at least the shyster lawyers, should have a say in what becomes of this woman. This sickens me.

Has this woman been sterilized? I think she should be.

189 dogs, chickens, horses, wow. Thats a whole lotta animals.

I agree with Quig. I think she's got a screw loose. Still, that doesnt excuse this behavior.

At the very least she should not be allowed to own any animals by court order. And thats being kind.

I guess this article didnt mention that they'd already seized a bunch of animals a couple of weeks earlier -- the really sick ones -- and there are like 60 pugs that she'd had at the time that are mysteriously unaccounted for.

Despite it all she won't relinquish ownership of the animals.

Some of the stuff that I'd read about her back last year was that she was basically stealing $$ from people putting deposits on dogs as well as giving false registration information and if I remember there was some scam about how she acquired her breeding stock. A bad seed altogether.

A jail cell sounds too nice for her, maybe they can put a nice open air one outside for her to sit in. See if she likes living that way.

Thats a sad story.. I could never leave my lil dog outside.. Especially in 20 below weather!! There is definately something wrong with that woman.. I wonder why they can't make it where she can't own animals??? Looks like that would be a avenue they could've used the first time she was raided and this wouldn't be happening..

The death penalty by exposure sounds like a good punishment for her.....

And I feel bad for making my dogs stay outside long enough for me to mop the floors thoroughly.
They should shut her down, and put her in jail. The comment in the article about not thinking there was any beatings, it was "just hypothermia".. that burns me up! Like letting dogs FREEZE to death isn't a terribly cruel thing!
I hate people.

How absolutely disgusting. She should not come within 100 yards of any animal.
