What are some things you do in your husbandry that just make it easier on you. One of the things I have started doing is using the little craft clothspins to mark tubs. I took permenant markers and colored the pins red and blue. Blue is for an animal in shed and red marks tubs when I leave food overnight. This way, when I walk into my room in the morning, I can tell at a glance which tubs I need to check. No more trying to find that stinky rodent someone decided not to eat!

I also use screen swivel clips on all on my racks to secure each tub
individually.

Jeff has been using some of those large black paper clips and attaching a tag to them. He can mark snakes that have food with them, which male is in with a female, ect....seems to work really well.

I like the idea of the colored cloths pins for leaving food in overnight. I'm usually the one who gives myself a head rush from all of the sniffing and checking LOL

How does he attach them to the tubs?

The black clip opens up and then attaches to the rim of the container. I'll see if he has a pic somewhere.

So it is more like a clamp than your typical paper clip?

Yes it is the 'clamp' type for really large stacks of papers.

They are called black binder clips.

Cool. I may have to give those a try for keeping track of males that are in with girls.

I've been known to loose track of where I am feeding from (get distracted by the kid, the phone or the computer) so I use the binder clips to stick on the tubs after I've tossed in food - it also helps if the kid is helping feed so we don't feed the same snake twice. -- I have set of colored ones that I use for special reminders.

I'm curious how you have your heat cable routed? Any other comments on the Visions are of interest too. Thanks.

I use the large plastic dog water bowls from walmart.

They are hollow underneath... and have hand holds cut out of the side... so I have a combo water dish / snake hide.

Do they ever get tipped over by the snake underneath?

Not yet.... I even have them in with the 1500gram balls... no probs

and the balls hide under them....its funny when I have someone over.... and lift the bowl... and a large snake comes spilling out.

Here is a thing I picked up from Clay Davenport that I started using myself.

When I drill the holes in my tubs, I drill them in the exact same spot & location on both ends. I mark one end with a male sign & and female sign on the opposite end with a permanent marker. At a glance I can see which tub has which sex.

Now that is a smart idea!

I forgot to mention that I cut a piece of masking tape and write the morph , ID# on it. Since the babies come & go or grow out to a bigger tub, the masking tape is easier to peel off & replace than a sticker.

Index card - with a little clear tape attaching it to the tub.... sophistication is me!

I use a grease pencil and just write everything on the tub, id #, micer, pain in the ass, runner, biter....lol

I did that to Jeff, until I realized I was rubbing the info off by mistake. Now I do the tape thing.

Only thing I am really concerned with is the id# and normally with my compulsive system they are set up in ways that may only make sense to me but I know which one is where...lol

Well almost all of mine have names, so..... the stuff rubbing off was mostly on the babies.

LOL, If anyone else went into the snakehouse to pack something up they couldn't find a damn thing. i know where & what everything is and poor Lolo is left in the dark.

Its the same with me trying to do anything with her leos too. She can tell me on the phone where what is and I can't find nothing left on my own.

They say the cord they send with the rack is sufficient but our top tub isnt heatd ... we ran out after using as little as possible . Next rack I will buy an extra box of repticord .
Top tub is used for storage now .
