I received this incubator from a friend. It actually had a hovabator top, but I converted the top to a tiled cleaning area. I will post pics of the top when I border it. For now I just have this front view pic to show.

Very nice. Good and simple. I'm gonna be making one of those myself soon I think. What do you use to run the computer fans?

I have to thank Amy for the idea she came up with. She was actually cleaning out some cages and noticed three extra tiles sandwiched in between two stacks. So after some cutting and adhering I had the hard part done. Now I just have to border it out and we have a new table top.

Adam, I use a cooling fan for salt water aquariums. About the same cost, but comes ready to go! Just plug the adapeter (that come with it) into it and you are done. Here is a link. They have some others, but this is what I use. It works great.

Nice and simple. I've got just about the same set up and I would trust that bad boy with anything in it..

What's that made out of? I'm in the process of building my first incubator now out of an upright freezer for some yellowheaded tiger retic eggs this female is about to drop. Any pointers?

The outer layer is wood, then there is a inch thick layer of styro, and then I believe a type of shower board for the internal compartment. the front has a layer of glass on both the inside and outside of the door. The top was made for a hovabator so I tore that out and added 2 inches of wood with a tiled top. I would have to say whatever you do please add a couple of gallons of water in the form of some gatorade or other bottles. If the power goes out or you open the door often this will help in keeping the temps equalized in prolonged periods of temperature fluctuation. Another thing I can say is don't skimp on the thermostat. Helix is my choice, but there are a few other proportional thermostats on that market that work very well.
