Your not alone brother. I'll drag my ass up there to do it , walk in & sigh and 20 minutes later I'm a happy camper. I get even happier when I start pulling weaned and see some payback for the efforts.

When you set up your groups , do you put all the pretty ones together? Lolo picks on me because I bother to breed pretty snake food.

Hell yeah...I'm a sucker for the grey's and grey hooded...I like the Cinny's too and the blacks but I love the brown looking swamp rats...LOL

No I love cleaning the rats. we clean twice a week. we clean three racks one night and three on the other night when garbage goes out. I really love the rats they are so cute. I am always saving the cutes ones. debbie

Probably not, I went to pick up a couple boas in Reno one time. The guy spent about 5 mins showing me his snake room. Then tried to keep me in his garage telling me about and showing me rats for the next 2 hours. When we left my girlfriend asked me what was wrong with that guy, he had a garage full or rats and probably only about 10-15 snakes. It wasn't like he had all of those rats breeding to sell either. I would label him as a Rat breeder who kept a few snakes, not vice versa.

I don't mind messing with them but I mainly let Tama handle them (turns out I am also allergic to them which doesn't help), I like to mess with them when I am harvesting though...Mice on the other hand are some of the nastiest animals I have ever dealt with.

I enjoy the rodents almost as much as the snakes. Wished I was done in 20 minutes though! More like 5 1/2 hours later but it is worth every penny! My favorite are the albino hooded and dumbos......

I enjoy cleaning rat cages. Get to see them all, make sure everyone is happy, and I also get joy in seeing the babies get bigger. My favorites are the gray and hymalayin ones.

Yea, your the only one. I bitch, then do NOT enjoy it while cleaning; although, I must admit the little ones are pretty cute sometimes.

I love the smell of rat tirds in the morning ! It gives me the feeling of victory!

it might be dust from the bedding.
try different bedding. may not be the critters at all.

Ya, I never did say if it thought it was the rats or the bedding, but I just find that pine works best for me so I suffer through it:cool:

I hate cleaning rat tubs, smells risk of getting bit moving babies, such a pain in the a** but its worth it for my snakes and it save me $$$$$$$

We use aspen bedding in the cages. Costs more but it's better than having Jeff live in the car since he's seriously allergic to pine anything.
