You know something that just occured to me... I remember seeing her (well at least a lady on a scooter). As a matter of fact; my two young boys and I were looking at some geckos (we bought our first 2 this year at Tinley). I remember telling my young kids to back up so she could browse and we would look after her. I explained to my kids that there were so many people in here it must be nearly impossible for her to get close to see stuff. GRRRRRRRRRR.... Now I wish I would've told them to tip her over!

I have been looking at show displays for the up coming 2012 shows. One of the displays I was looking at was from Boaphile and in one of the setup videos he says something along the lines of they bolt together so noone can just scoop a row of animals. I thought to myself really??? is it that big of a problem I mean there is a thousand eyes always watching theres no way someone could get away with it.

She made some pretty wild claims, but the eyewitness accounts are pretty damning. One of them even from an acquaintance of hers who was at the gecko table when she allegedly made off with the geckos.

Hey people like her don't eat out unless there is a buffet involved. There are town ordinances about buffets having to be in equal number on opposite sides of town to keep things from getting off kilter.

No worries, won't be getting bitten :) I know it sounds stupid, but I know this animal - he has yet to strike at ANYTHING, and is more laid back than any corn snake or ball python I have met. I am not complacent, and always keep an eye on body language. He is very unique - that's all I can say!

I have a friend that used to handle his water cobras like colubrids. he had them since babies and knew his animals well one day after 4-5 years or so the animal turn and bit his thumb. luckily it's fangs hit his fingernail so he didn't get envenomated, it left a drop of venom on the nail and he realized he could be dead/dying. needless to say he no longer free handles his animals.

If You freehandle venomous it's not a question of IF You'll get bit it's a question of WHEN.

I've been following that iHerp post from the beginning, and it still pisses me off that someone would do all this. Steve is such a great guy and I'm glad that this time around he got his geckos back. Hopefully they get the evidence they need in the security tapes to convict her.

That is just rediculous. I normally give people the benefit of a doubt but the evidence is just stacked too high an her story sounds like complete BS.

It really sucks that vendors need to worry about people takng stuff off their table. I wish I could feel ok about putting animals in deli cups on my table. Unfortunately I do not feel comfortable doing it so I have to spend hundreds on acrylic dsplay cases to be sure my animals do not walk away unpaid for.

Whats worse is that I have had animals stolen from my table when the "public" was not in the show. That means vendors are not beyond being thieves. Thats why I upped the security on my animal displays. I even take all my animals back to the room with me until the next day if we are doing a 2 day show.

It sucks but vendors need to be more careful about how they display their animals and the use of receipts should be employed.

If anything good came out of someone stealing stuff, its the display of people looking out for eachother at the Tinley show and not letting a thief get away with it...

On the receipt thing. Why can't vendors just do that on their own? I've been doing that now for a long time. I bought a receipt book at office depot. Each has 100 receipts with carbon copies in it. Costs about 3 bucks. Takes me one minute to write out a receipt and hand it to someone. I think it makes the customer feel better too.

I have never visited the BOI...so I can't say much to your comment about that. I see where your coming from and have acknowleded that already in my previous post. You've stated your thougths on the matter, so drop it.

If i paid for animals at a show i would definately leave the show with them. She gave them up with little to no fight other than a BS story. So you lost or dont have a reciept, take the animal back to the vendor, find the cashier you paid, and verify the transaction. No way i leave without my animals

I think skining may have one point though. If this is not a true picture of Kathy Weeks, this woman in the pic still exists and her photo has made the rounds on various sites.
