Quig JOHNS6068 01-09-2009, 12:40 AM Thats what I heard this morning as well..something like record flooding taking place out there.....It was amazing how much rain they said fell in just 24hrs..it broke the all time record..I can't remember what it was exactly but it was a lot I know that. 7 inches in 24hrs I looked it up...I thought it was bit higher then that even...alot of snow melt as well is taking place =( jknudson 01-09-2009, 12:50 AM Most all of Melanie's relatives are in Washington in the area of flooding. They had called for evacuations as of yesterday, but today they called them off. Apparently they fixed the dyke and think it should hold no problem. But yes, Melanie was on the phone yesterday making sure they're all alright. NoahHart 01-09-2009, 01:12 AM Im in Oregon and there is lots of flooding here too. Its pretty crazy right now. Melanie 01-09-2009, 09:56 PM Yeah, my sister and cousin and their families are in the section of Kelso that had called for evacuation. My cousin went to a shelter for the night and my sister went to a friend's house on higher ground. But they reenforced the part of the river that was posing the threat and the river had crested and it looked like it was holding so they called off the evacuation for now. My family is back home now. I grew up in that town... there've been lots of floods but I've never seen them actually evacuate homes like that- pretty crazy stuff! |
