hi, recently i found that my snake's body got some small small black insect... is it mites? it will harm my snake?? then how to remove them ? thx!

Little round and almost the size of a pinhead? If so I know there are ways to get rid of mites but just want to be sure they are first.

the insect is black and round in shape.... will walk around on top of snake skin....

i got 3 snake, 2 mangrove and 1 corn. mangrove is balck, so i din see it much. i found my corn have... i already spray some frontline on my corn....

ya, after i sprayed, i found 2 in my corn eye. then i squeeze them out and kill by hand.... now my corn gonna change skin, so i wait till it changed then oni check again.

my mangrove got also. yesterday check them, they got....same type of insect....

Sounds like mites, but you sprayed with frontline?? Is that a product made for reptiles, or for dogs and cats. If not made specifically for reptiles, you could kill your animals. Provent-a-mite is a product made for treating mites on reptiles. You need to get that. By the way, where are you located?

Sounds like mites to me and can you get a pic up and we can tel you for sure if mites

haiz....... sad case..... i am in malaysia.... is hard for me to get a spray for reptile.... jz can find the frontline which used to kill mites on dog and cat... the snake collector here say can use... dun know, i jz carefully and dun spray to the eye of my snake lo...

Do you have access to Olive oil? If so you could always rub the snake with that to smother the mites. Just a thought.

Can you get a hold of Nix, for treating head lice on people?
