This is my parents vegie garden area... you walk through the tunnel of vine to get into it....

Found this guy cruising on the garden fence, about 6ft off the ground. I knew there was one seen here a few days before. So I went over to that area as soon as we got a nice warm enough for them to be out day.... walked the fence looking at the ground area when I heard it slide, looked up and there it was, about 21/2 to 3 feet away staring at me.... so, first thing I did was freeze and pull out the camera and snapped this shot before it went back down the fence to the ground area. It's probably 5ft....

Cropped shot....

Made for a good day.... they are frequent visitors to the area. There was a smaller young one at the back of the house the next day.

Yeah, we saw all those other pictures with you holding the snakes, yet here you are not even in the shot. What gives?

OK, if you're going to admit it. That's not as fun. I'd be a sissy too. There are very few snakes that I'm actually frightened to hold and/or work with. Mambas, kraits, and the australian elapids.

Kraits? I remember kraits. Saw a couple overseas, and NO I didn't pick them up

Ooops, maybe they weren't kraits. Looked very much like them though.
