...some retired breeder rats to my balls? I am putting down about 15 breeder rats today that are no good (mostly skinny females) and I'm wondering if you think I should feed any of them off to my larger balls. I don't have anything big enough to feed them to, so they'll just sit in my freezer until they're no good. I have about six 06 females that are all about 1000g, and I'm trying to get 'em up to size for this year, so what do you think?

nah..Give them to someone with an adult boa or something like that...

I never feed rats that large..not even to my largest females that are well over 3000grams.

Since we're talking FT I would say let them eat em if they will, granted you need to make that final call of prey to snake size...nothing that is half it's size, etc...

I have a few bp's that love big meals but they like them live so I will only go to sm/med rats live, if they would go to FT I would probably let them go a little bigger but I am talking about the ones that will only eat one meal at a time and that it.

think that would be a stretch for a 1000 g critter.
but they surprise me all the time.
just freeze 'em until your girls get a litte bigger. or trade with someone who needs large.

I agree, Too big... Trade for smaller is the best option ;)

I wouldn't. That seems too large to me. I was feeding retired breeder rats to my adult female boa, which is much larger than my adult female balls.
