This is our new Snake Necked Turtle. My daughter named him Barney. He is only about the size of a half dollar right now.

Awesome stuff. Don't know where that one is from, but I got to see some snake necks in the wild in Australia. They are awesome. Impressive animals.

Tank isnt fully done I am waiting to show it off when it is I just did a water test and decided there to small to get out anyways so I threw them in it.

They are from New Guinea area this one was captive hatched.

Only about half finished still waiting on a few parts for in and outtake so it wont look so thrown together just works for now. Still need plexi glass and plants. Oh and more fish.

Water has a little tea color to it cause the wood tannin's it will slowly go away with water changes and time.

What's the PH requirements on those? Some turtles (like the mata mata's) you have to "tea" their water for the PH effect, off the top of my head I'm totally blanking if it raises or lowers, forgive me, it's been an insane day. Basically just saying that tea color from the tannins can be beneficial to some species.:cheers:

Yeah it will lower the PH and these turtles do ok in a wide range of PH so not to worried about it. I used to breed cichlids so I learned all about water quality. I would love to own a mata mata but thats why I cant cause the water here is to hard for them.
