Has anyone ordered any of the new ReptileBasics hide? I purchased four of them and they seem a bit choppy, they still work great, but the edges aren't smooth like the old ones, and have chunks missing around the lip on the bottom. Besides that, they feel almost indestructible.

Can you post pictures?

When did they redesign them? What did they change?

From ReptileBasics.com: While the dimensions are the same we have redesigned our hides to be more durable than before and also smooth inside and out for easier cleaning.

I also want to say that Reptile Basics is a great company, and Rich has really awesome customer service. I don't know about the older version, but this model came with a made in Pakistan sticker on the sleeve, so as far as I'm aware of, it wasn't Rich's fault for the rough finish.

You shouldnt have to do this (Quality control issue) but I would take a lighter to the plastic to melt it a little. This will "dull" the sharp edges. Usually only takes a second or 2.

For the bigger ones a dremel or some 800g sandpaper.

didn't realize they changed their sheet plastic. i have the old model with the leather texture on them. i wish they made the switch back them as the textured ones are a bit harder to clean.
