I was wondering if anyone knew a site that sells controlled density PVC, the stuff that AnimalPlastics uses.

www.totalplastics.com is where I have purchased it in the past under the brand name Celtec but you can get it under other brand names, and from other plastic distributors. It is expanded PVC. AP is the only place I have seen it referred to as "controlled density".

check around locally. i get my PVC sheets from a local plastic supplier that supplies sign companies. shipping on this stuff can get pricey.

they do, and they cut it, but they are expensive both in shipping and in material costs. they have a huge selection though.
