My girlfriend and I gotta make a trip down to LA over the weekend, and we were initially going to go to Disneyland...however due to MLK weekend and expenses we decided to visit Prehistoric Pets instead. So...those of you from southern California, is PP as awesome as it sounds? Is it possible to see the whole collection of retics, burms and balls?
Also, are there any other recommendations on what to do in the area? Herp-related would be great, but other activities (museums, zoos, etc) would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry don't know much about the area but I've heard Prehistoric Pets has some less than par animals. Maybe they'll look better when you're in there.

Interesting...they always seemed like they had good stock. They're definitely one of the leaders when it comes to retic morphs, and the owner sounded like a good guy when he was on RR. The chance to visit a 10,000 square foot pet store focusing on reptiles seems like too much to pass up.

Passion4Pythons went there last year I believe and loved it. Shoot her a PM. I am sure she would be happy to tell you some places to visit.

Prehistoric Pets -- well - the store is typical -- the kids like it -- it's nothing to write home about IMO. You do not get to see the whole collection just by going in the store as most of their really interesting stuff is kept in the back or somewhere else I suppose -- I've been in the back but only to look at balls -- I don't know retic wise what they have going on back there -- I don't know if they let just anyone tour the back either -- you might want to call ahead and see what their policy is on that.
Oh and you'll want to take precautions that you don't take any extra travelers home with you -- if you know what I mite mean.
As for other cool stuff I always have a hard time recommending cause it really depends on what you like. Looks like we will still have some decent beach weather this weekend.

Ugh, that's disappointing. I was hoping it would be like NERD where you can get to see some of the new stuff. I was hoping to get up close with some killer retic morphs, but it sounds like it won't happen.
I'm in Santa Cruz, so the beach is my background (well, nearly). Isn't the weather nuts? It reached 80 degrees up here today!

I've practically grown up at EBV. It's a great shop, and the people that work there are great. Plus, I think the owner actually lives in my parents hometown. I was just hoping to get an up close view of some cutting edge morph breedings.
