I am planning on setting up some caging for the boas. I plan on using radiant heaters in all cages and I need roughly the same temp in all the cages. What would be a good thermostat choice for me? Also should I replace the thermostat after so many years? The reason I ask is I am paranoid about fires and I am wondering if this would be a good practice.
Thanks,
Dan

I am thermometer illeterate. Do you just plug the heaters into the thermostat and the thermostat into the wall? How many heaters can you plug into one thermostat? Should I go for a controller or a thermostat?
Thanks,
Dan

The VE thermastats plug into the wall. Then you plug a power strip into the back of the thermastat. I have 3 radiant heat panels running on it but can easily control more. Dont remember off the top of my head how many watts it can handle.

I have a Herpstat IV by Spyder Robotics. I love it. It has four grounded outlets, which means that you can run multiple racks or cages on each "output," as long as you don't exceed to total wattage, of course.
I highly recommend the product, but it is pretty expensive. It might also be overkill if you only need one grounded outlet.

Ve thermostats all the way. They handle up to 700 watts.

I use both spyder and Ve. I highly recomond both of them, out of the two I prefer spyder robotics a little over the Ve's because you have greater control over temp setting down to tenths of a degree with the spyders.
